"I did not mean to cut you short, the presentation is fine but what is
the bottom line?"
Mr. Bauer stated, "I am here to offer an alternative and show you that you are not
getting the service you are suppose to get and to tell you that you can save
money." "You are worried about solid waste issues and the future." "In 9 years,
when the SEMASS contract is gone, what's going to happen then?"
Mr. Doherty noted, "The rates will go through the roof."
Mr. Bauer stated, "The rates are already going through the roof." "The disposal
rates for C&D are suppose to double by the year 2000, less than a year from
now." "Then they triple six months after that." "Same thing will happen with
MSW." "We look down the road, we are aware of market trends, we
keep our eye on metals market." "In talking with Ronnie about how much it costs
to get rid of propane tanks, you pay $6 apiece right now." "Tomorrow I could get
you $2 a piece or less." "You are getting rid of mixed rolloffs." "Do some
segregation ahead of time, build a small area with separate cans." "These are
ways to cut your costs and that is what Green Seal does effectively." "Thank you
for your time and I would like to come back and talk to you again if you think of
any questions."
Mr. McQuaid suggested, "Put together in writing a dollar amount proposal for the
Town, as far as operation and recycling, that will address not only the supervisory
services you can perform, but satisfy the margin to DEP."
Mr. Bauer stated, "I sure can but I will need some information as to what your
margin requirements are for groundwater." "The rest I can do without any other
information."
Mr. McQuaid asked, "Each is performed a supervisory role correct?"
Mr. Bauer answered, "Not necessarily."
Mr. McQuaid asked, "Do you do operations?"
Mr. Bauer answered, "We are not set up to do operations". "We are not a big
construction firm." "We do all the site visits to ensure things are going the way
they are supposed to." "The facility in this report, I am there twice a week for
inspections and once a week I sit in on their staff meetings." "Every other month
I send a bi-monthly report in." "But you have to know between reports, there are
issues that come up and I don't tell DEP about those issues unless they have not
