MINUTES May 31, 2001 3 BOARD OF HEALTH
Mr. Marotta stated that his property is 3.44 acres and the proposed home will consist
of 790 square feet and will be connected to town water. He provided Board members
with nitrogen calculations and feels that he has proved that the water quality in that
area will not be affected by the flow.
Discussion took place regarding the calculations, the Board's regulation and the
future subdivision possibilities of the lot. Mr. Marotta assured Board members that
the lot could not be further subdivided to allow for more dwellings.
Mr. Santos motioned to grant the variance requested to allow for a 660 gallon per day
septic system flow without a denitrification unit. Mr. Ball seconded the motion.
Motion passed.
APPOINTMENT: Dan Hyde re: variance request at 8 Radcliffe Road
Mr. Dan Hyde was in attendance for this scheduled appointment.
Mr. Hyde stated that he would like to enlarge the kitchen and bathroom only at his
home at 8 Radcliffe Road. This proposed addition will be within 2'of the septic tank
with a 4'foundation below.
Mr. Doherty stated that he would like to see the foundation sealcoated and vented
since the addition will be within close proximity to the tank.
Mr. Ball motioned to grant the 8'variance from the proposed addition to the existing
septic tank with the stipulation that there are 2 vents in the foundation and that both
sides of the foundation are sealcoated. Mr. Santos seconded the motion. Motion
passed.
3. Variance request: 1 Waterline Drive North
The applicant is requesting a variance of .88'from the proposed soil absorption
system to the street property line.
Mr. Ball motioned to grant the variance as outlined in a cover letter from A.M.
Wilson Associates Inc, dated May 10, 2001. Mr. Santos seconded the motion.
Motion passed.
4. Request for Massage Therapist License: Linda Tierney
Ms. Tierney applied for a Massage Therapist License in the Town of Mashpee,
however her only licensing is in the state of Florida. She did not provide Board
Members with any further documentation of her training or education and only
provided a Florida address.
Mr. Santos motioned to deny the request for a Massage Therapist License for
Linda Tierney based on insufficient information on training and education. Mr.
Ball seconded the motion. Motion to deny passed.
