MINUTES March 29, 2001 5 BOARD OF HEALTH <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> a. Smoking Regulation Violations <br /> Ms. Warden updated Board members that payment had been received from <br /> Mobil On The Run and Star Market for fines for violation of the Board's Tobacco <br /> Sales Regulation. <br /> b. Laudromat at Bend River e e d Motel <br /> Discussion tooklace regarding sin a <br /> p g g a g t the River Bend Motel advertising a <br /> laundromat at the facility. Board members agreed to contact Mr. Halpern pern to <br /> have him immediately remove the sign as a laundromat is not allowed at the <br /> facility. <br /> C. Compost from transfer station <br /> Board members directed Ms. Warden to notify transfer station operator Moe <br /> Cassanelli to begin preparations for the composted mulch material in order to <br /> have it ready for residents later this spring. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> a. Request to install irrigation well - Drew Lane (subdivision behind transfer <br /> station <br /> Ms. Warden informed Board members that a resident of Drew Lane is <br /> requesting permission to install an irrigation well at his property. Discussion <br /> took place regarding a one-time spill upgradient of the transfer station and the <br /> possibility of present and/or future contamination of the groundwater in the <br /> vicinity of the Asher's Heights subdivision. <br /> Mr. Doherty stated that the Board would need to advise the applicant that the <br /> area of his property has, in the past, been suspect to isolated groundwater <br /> contamination and would further advise the applicant that it would be his sole <br /> responsibility to monitor the water from his irrigation well to ensure his own <br /> safety. <br /> Mr. Doherty motioned to allow the applicant to install an irrigation well with the <br /> understanding that volatile organic compound testing must be performed <br /> annually, in April and August, for the life of the well and that the Board of <br /> Health cannot guarantee the safety of the water from the well. Mr. Santos <br /> seconded the motion. Motion passed. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> a. Title V transitional rules <br /> Ms. Warden stated that she has spoken with Brian Dudley regarding the Title V <br /> transitional rules and is working with him to bring the town into compliance <br /> with the regulation. <br /> Board acknowledged. <br /> b. Public Forum (televised?) <br /> Ms. Warden stated that the letters to restaurant owners have been sent out <br /> notifying them of the public forum. She also stated that the forum would be <br /> televised from town hall conference rooms 1 and 2. <br />
