TOWN OF MASHPEE DESIGN REVIEW COMMITTEE MEETING October 22 , 1997 The Design Review Committee met at 6: 35 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22 , 1997 at the Lower Level of Mashpee Town Hall. Committee Members Present: William Hauck, Ex Officio; Ed Govoni, Chairman; Patrick Coffey, Planning Board Representative; Mary LeBlanc; and Thomas F. O 'Hara. 1. Mashpee Veterinary Hospital, 430 Great Neck Road North Mr. Mike Day representing Mashpee Veterinary Hospital displayed plans for a 4 ' x 5 ' sign to be located in front of the building at 430 Great Neck Road North. The planned color of ivory, rather than white, will match the building. The sign will be flood lit, and low shrubbery will be planted around it. All agreed it is a nice looking sign. The plan did not show the exact placement of the sign. It was suggested Mr. Day stop into the office, fill out an applica- tion and specify the exact site. 2 . Mashpee Chamber of Commerce, 16 Great Neck Road Mr. Wayne R. Duchemin, Co-ordinator from the Economic Development Committee, discussed plans for an informational kiosk to be located in front of town hall. It is a joint effort between the Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Development Committee. The proposal calls for the information to be displayed near the phone booth on a 2 ' x 3 ' sign of natural, pressure-treated cedar. It will read "Town of Mashpee" and display a map showing major roadways and various points of interest. Special events will be listed on the other side. Mr. Duchemin will maintain a key and act as custodian. Ms. LeBlanc expressed reservations about the location of the kiosk. A more northerly and centrally located position was suggested. Other members concurred. It was agreed the area will be viewed by Mr. Duchemin and some board members in order to decide on an ideal location. Following a decision on the location, Mr. Duchemin will fill out an application at town hall.
