Finance Committee <br /> February 25, 1988 <br /> Page 2. <br /> Jane broke down the 7,000 census request as follows: <br /> Wages 4,850 <br /> Census Card 1,350 <br /> Print 500 <br /> Additional File <br /> Cards 300 <br /> Carl noted that the budget figure for the two budgets could range from <br /> $57,273.60 to $64,051.80 depending on the clerical salary for Elections and <br /> Registrations. <br /> There are three Articles #62, #78 and #80 submitted by the Town Clerk. <br /> Article #62 will be eliminated from the warrant. This is regarding the <br /> Administration Clerk for Elections and Registrations and was previously <br />. approved at Town Meeting and appears in the budget figures. . Article #78 seeks <br /> a sum of money to notify taxpayers of their house numbers. There presently <br /> is no figure associated with the Article, however, Jane noted that it wouldn't <br /> be a very big amount. She also noted that if she did not have a figure for <br /> this Article by mid-March it would be withdrawn from the Warrant . She noted <br /> that the numbers can not be implemented without money. Article #80 is on <br /> the Warrant to straighten out by-law numbers. <br /> Carl noted that the budget would be reconsidered and Jane would be <br /> notified of the Finance Committee' s decision. <br /> The Harbormaster joined the meeting to discuss his FY89 budget. Chet <br /> Koblinsky presented the budget as follows: <br /> Salary $13,800 <br /> Wages 8,500 <br /> Expense 9,400 <br /> Carl inquired about the possibility of a registration fee for boats. Joe <br /> noted that it might be a possibility but he would check into it. Chet noted <br /> that $9,431 is projected this year as income from mooring permits and this is <br /> allocated to the General Fund. The Excise Tax income goes z to General Fund <br /> and z to a waterways improvement fund. <br /> Chet proceeded to discuss the Articles. Article #58 has been submitted <br /> by the Personnel Board and seeks to create the position of full-time Harbormaster. <br /> This Article would require $22,865 for the Salary Account, $2,432 for medical <br /> insurance, $36 for the Group Insurance Account, $331.54 for Medicare and <br /> $2,286.50 for the Pension Reserve Account. Note was made at this point, that <br /> if this position should be approved there is no provision for removing the <br /> $13,800 to be appropriated in the Salary Account in the Harbormaster' s Budget. <br /> Article X659 seeks to create two full time, 14 week Waterways Assistant <br /> positions. This Article has been submitted by both the Harbormaster and <br /> the Shellfish Constable and would be funded by both departments. $4,480 <br /> would come from the Harbormaster Wage Account and $4,480 from the Shellfish <br /> Warden Assistant Warden Wages. <br />
