Brown
There was a discussion of severance pay and it was decided to
work out a policy in this area.
The Personnel Board will meet with the Board of Selectmen on
Wednesday evening, June 25, at 8:30 P.M.
Special Officer Ralph Rocheteau was present to discuss his
salary in light of the fact of his qualifications. A letter will be
sent to Officer Rocheteau stating that the Board has made a study
which limits the pay of Special Officers from $3.04 to $3.78 (Grade 8) ,
based on monies paid in towns of comparable size. While the Board is
aware of the special problems that Officer Rocheteau's case presents,
the Board is limited by the Salary Administration Plan.
A letter will be written to Chief Bingham, noting the wages
currently being paid to special police officers and asking the basis
by which he approved these hourly figures, in view of the provisions
of the SAP.
A letter will be written to Town Counsel, Richard Staff, Esq. ,
asking whether the public prosecutor is entitled to 5% additional
compensation under either Article 7 or 8 of the Annual Town Meeting
Warrant.
Regarding Del McKenna's salary with the Waterways Committee,
a letter will be sent advising that the salary and wage schedule will
reflect a.5% increase, and therefore the $3.04 requested will .be effective
7/1/75.
The question raised by Amelia Bingham re hiring another person
for the Indian Museum, after receiving approval for a leave of absence
forAgnes Gorton, will be discussed Wednesday evening with the Board of
Selectmen.
Chester Brown will inquire as to a neurologist or neurosurgeon
for the examination of George Costa,' upon his return to the Police Department.
Regarding Varden Kelly s request to have his date of employment
as of 12/31/71, the Board voted-to establish this date for fringe benefits,
and a letter will be sent accordingly.
} Having no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 10:15 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
jsa
V
