I . <br /> PERSONNEL .BOARD <br /> MASHPEE TOWN- HALL <br /> MEETING OF MARCH 5 , 1990 <br /> The following members of the Personnel Board were present for tonight ' s <br /> meeting : Chairman Robert W. Sullivan , Leo Turo and Jane Stockbridge , <br /> Kevin Harrington , the •Executive Secretary , was also present during the <br /> meeting . t <br /> Chairman Sullivan convened the meeting at 6 . 05 p .m . <br /> Personnel Board Minutes , <br /> Jane Stockbridge moved to accept thePersonnelBoard minutes of Feb . 26 . <br /> Leo Turo seconded the motion . All in favor-. <br /> Special Police Officer Positions <br /> Chairman Sullivan advised Kevin Harrington that the Personnel Department <br /> was currently advertising for two positions of Special Police Officer at <br /> the request of Chief Fryer He indicated that the response was tremendous <br /> with over 50 people applying in one day plus 20 telephone calls . <br /> Chairman Sullivan also mentioned that they would need to use the large <br /> hall in the. lower portion of the townyhall to administer the written exam . <br /> Kevin Harrington indicated that he was aware of the request.. <br /> Position of Data Processing .Coordinator <br /> Chairman Sullivan advised Kevin Harrington that he talked with Tom Pucci <br /> regarding the job description and Tom indicated that the person should be <br /> strong on the software . Everything else seemed fine except the job title <br /> which he recommended be changed to "Manager of Informational Systems " . <br /> Leo Turo mentioned that there are excellent people coming out of industry <br /> who are heavy on programming and software . <br /> Jane Stockbridge mentioned that Information Systems Manager or Manager of <br /> Informational Systems sounds good for the job title . Kevin Harrington <br /> commented that he felt the important thing istoget the position estab- <br /> lished and to work on the job description . He said that he was willing to <br /> have someone work twenty-five to thirty hours a week . <br /> The salary of .$31 , 088 was reviewed by Chairman Sullivan who mentioned that <br /> this figure was used in the budget workup . Jane Stockbridge commented that <br /> she felt the position was comparable to that of a Town Engineer -- both would <br /> work alone and would not have any. subordinates . She mentioned that Town <br /> Engineer was slotted under Grade 17 of the P .A .P . at $34 , 377 annually . <br /> Kevin Harrington said that he was looking for the board ' s reaction for the <br /> need of the position and then he would prepare the article . to create the <br /> position . The Personnel Assistant asked what the consultant was presently <br /> being paid . Kevin said that he did .not have that figure but would find out . <br /> Discussion centered on the great job that Tom .Pucci is currently doing for <br /> the town with Kevin Harrington mentioning that three hours wasn ' t doing it . <br /> He said that they need to have some consistency .with the equipment which <br /> you can automatically hook into from one office to another . Kevin stressed <br /> that compatability was a big issue . Chairman Sullivan mentioned the time- <br /> work study commenting on the fact that the Personnel Office has no printer <br /> and the Assistant must go back and forth between the Selectmen ' s office . <br />
