PROPOSED CHANGES OF PERSONNEL ADMINISTRATION PLAN <br /> Page 1 Under Definitions : Add new wording as follows : <br /> There are two basic categories of employees : Regular and Temporary <br /> Re1ulla.rr Employees work continuously year round in positions author- <br /> ized by vote of the Town Meeting . A regular employee may either <br /> work full -time or part-time . <br /> 1 . Full-time is 40 hours per week for supervisory and profes- <br /> sional employees , and 371� hours for administrative and <br /> clerical employees . <br /> 2 . Standard Part-Time ( +20 hrs . ) is less than full-time but not <br /> less than 20 hours per week . <br /> 3 . Non-Standard Part-Time ( -20 hrs . ) is less than 20 hours per <br /> eek ; but , due tostatutory requirements , no more than 999 <br /> hours in one year . <br /> Temporary Employees are hired for limited periods of time to perform <br /> specific duties . <br /> 1 . A specific job description must be outlined for the project on <br /> which a temporary employee is to work . <br /> 2 . No Temporary Employee shall work for longer than four months <br /> for any one department within a year . <br /> 3 _ No Temporary Employee shall work for the Town of Mashpee for <br /> more than 999 hours in any consecutive twelve-month period . <br /> Page 2 Add on Line 2 "one " for one year , etc . <br /> After three years , add :.. "If a vacancy occurs during an incumbent ' s <br /> term , due either to resignation or death , the new appointee shall <br /> serve the remainder of the vacant term before, being eligible for a <br /> regular three-year term . ,- <br /> Add : "When a vacancy occurs on the Personnel Board , `the ( Personnel ) <br /> Board shall be notified of all -candidates who apply . Copies of <br /> their letters of application and resume shall be sent to the Personnel <br /> Board for review . The, Personnel Board will meet with candidates and <br /> forward their recommendations back to the Board of' Selectmen for con- <br /> sideration of appointment . (Policy Adopted by B .O . S . , 8/28/89 ) . <br /> Page 3 Under the third line of #8 , replace "his department" with "their <br /> departments " . <br /> Under Scope of Plan , add the following words after the word "Plan " <br /> in the first line : "and the hiring process . The following positions <br /> are excluded from receiving employee benefits and salary offered in <br /> the Plan : " <br /> Add : "the Library Director shall be appointed by the Library Trustees <br /> and the Executive Secretary shall be appointed by the Board of Select- <br /> men who will recommend the salary" . <br />
