8. Copies of the revised Town Committee Handbook which is being <br />updated was passed out. Any changes should be back to Gus by <br />August 31. <br />IV. A. Old Business <br />1. <br />Together We Can - The Community Forum is being planned for <br />Monday, October 17 at Mashpee Middle School Gym. The <br />next committee meeting will be on Tuesday, August 23 at <br />7:00 at the Fire House. <br />2, <br />Buildings Committee - Pool vote has been put off to the spring. <br />Two gyres are still planned. <br />Maureen Paxton suggested getting golf, soccer, football, etc. <br />teams started in the Middle School. <br />3. <br />Financial Assistance Application - A discussion regarding <br />setting up Friends of Leisure Services program. This could <br />include fund raising such as - a town -wide yard sale. <br />We will need to check out what can actually be done to <br />raise money for this. <br />4. <br />Summer Programs - Though a few programs were cancelled <br />due to lack of participation, those that ran were very <br />successful, such as: Swim lessons, Summer Camp, Golf/ <br />Tennis lessons. <br />5. <br />JTEC - 13 youth were in the program this summer. The <br />biggest problem was with supervision, and getting to all the <br />locations where kids were. The office workers were the most <br />successful part of the program. <br />B. New Business <br />1. By -Laws - Will discuss any questions at September meeting. <br />Present handbooks will be mailed out to all members. <br />2. Fall Programs - Fall programs are still being planned. A <br />meeting with Middle School Principal, Mr. Tippo will be held <br />on Tuesday, August 23rd. Discussion will be centered <br />around communicating changes in facility scheduling, and <br />working out a satisfactory way of keeping channels open <br />when changes occur. <br />3. Donation - We received a check from Joe DiMaggio who <br />donated $375 from Barnstable County Fair business. <br />He normally donates all profits to youth organizations. <br />4. South Cape Beach - A new beach East of ours will be developed <br />by the state for next summer. This will include a new <br />road. Also, a management plan is being worked on. <br />VI. ADJOURNMENT - With no other business to discuss, Ron Roberts made a <br />motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:25 PM.. <br />Elisa seconded. Motion carried. <br />
