8. Copies of the revised Town Committee Handbook which is being updated was passed out. Any changes should be back to Gus by August 31. IV. A. Old Business 1. Together We Can - The Community Forum is being planned for Monday, October 17 at Mashpee Middle School Gym. The next committee meeting will be on Tuesday, August 23 at 7:00 at the Fire House. 2, Buildings Committee - Pool vote has been put off to the spring. Two gyres are still planned. Maureen Paxton suggested getting golf, soccer, football, etc. teams started in the Middle School. 3. Financial Assistance Application - A discussion regarding setting up Friends of Leisure Services program. This could include fund raising such as - a town -wide yard sale. We will need to check out what can actually be done to raise money for this. 4. Summer Programs - Though a few programs were cancelled due to lack of participation, those that ran were very successful, such as: Swim lessons, Summer Camp, Golf/ Tennis lessons. 5. JTEC - 13 youth were in the program this summer. The biggest problem was with supervision, and getting to all the locations where kids were. The office workers were the most successful part of the program. B. New Business 1. By -Laws - Will discuss any questions at September meeting. Present handbooks will be mailed out to all members. 2. Fall Programs - Fall programs are still being planned. A meeting with Middle School Principal, Mr. Tippo will be held on Tuesday, August 23rd. Discussion will be centered around communicating changes in facility scheduling, and working out a satisfactory way of keeping channels open when changes occur. 3. Donation - We received a check from Joe DiMaggio who donated $375 from Barnstable County Fair business. He normally donates all profits to youth organizations. 4. South Cape Beach - A new beach East of ours will be developed by the state for next summer. This will include a new road. Also, a management plan is being worked on. VI. ADJOURNMENT - With no other business to discuss, Ron Roberts made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:25 PM.. Elisa seconded. Motion carried.
