4. Recreation Plan - Nothing new has been done. Gus will meet with Kim Whitney and Maureen Paxton to discuss this issue. 5. Cane Cod Neighborhood Sunnort - Gus mentioned a new Director was hired. Budget for 1997 is being developed and ready for approval. 6. Together We Can Update - a. Maureen Paxton said that the Forum was excellent. More parents should have been in attendance. b. Partnership Undate - Partnership will end the end of October. Gus would like to see this group continue. 7. Summer Academic Program - Summer Recreation Program has been developed for Grades Kindergarten and first grade. Theater group is also being planned. B. NEW BUSINESS - 1. Summer Programs - a. Programs are being developed and flyer will be done shortly. Adult Programs - Adult literacy program will be expanded in the fall. b. Health & Safety Fair - Gus passed out sheet regarding the Fair. c. Camps - Gus mentioned that financial assistance for camp programs is being offered. 2. Non-profit Status - Maureen is working on doing paperwork for non-profit status. 3. Human Services Committee has been approved. Meeting will be Wednesday at 10:00 AM in Town Hall Trailer. There will be four ongoing members and 3 other members are appointed from the community. V. OTHER BUSINESS - Kim is working on obtaining telephone poles regarding the lighting of the field at Heritage park. Gus mentioned that the back two fields at Heritage are being irrigated. Maureen mentioned that in June her appointment will be over. You can serve for three consecutive two-year terms. Ron Roberts' term will be up also in June. Maureen went over the description of the responsibilities of the Chairman. VI. ADiOURNMENT - Pat Riley made a motion to adjourn at 8:45 PM. Terrie Cook seconded. Motion carried.
