Hut. Cheryl Shepley is working to get this project together. Cheryl is trying to <br />get the kids involved. The proceeds would benefit the kids. <br />2. Comouterized Registrations - Pat Riley and Sheila Arnold have been working <br />with Gus to set up computerized registrations. <br />3. TWC Prevention Council - <br />Youth Center - This group will meet at Heritage Park from 5:00 PM until dark. <br />They will continue at K. C. Coombs School until school is over. A cookout will be <br />held on the last night. Niki Mills is planning on doing some programs with the <br />kids during the summer. <br />Rec. Plan - Kim and Maureen have a meeting on June 5. <br />Summer Academic Program - Did not receive many responses from teachers. <br />Concern that there was a duplication on some of the activities that were taking <br />place at Summer School. Anything that would not conflict was added into our <br />Summer Brochure. <br />High School Building Usage - The draft of Agreement was discussed. John <br />mentioned that activity in the school should be age appropriate for the building. <br />The main field should be for the high school use only. John agreed with <br />prioritizing use of schools. John Williams wants the main office and other <br />areas of building off limits. <br />Terrie Cook is concerned about having one person schedule with all four <br />buildings. In other towns the Rec Department comes under the Superintendent. <br />Terrie is concerned about liability coming under the school. Terrie felt that the <br />issue of liability was a great concern. <br />It was discussed that fields would not be available for the first year. <br />John Williams stressed the need to have only trained/qualified instructors for <br />the courses offered. Regarding the utilities - Gus said there needs to be a <br />building usage appropriation account to cover utilities. Gus said that we always <br />hire the best qualified instructors. Gus explained that we continue to have to <br />move or cancel programs because of last minute scheduling. <br />Terrie was upset that agreement was in the newspaper. Pat Riley suggested that <br />Terrie Cook and John Williams make a list of concerns and solutions regarding <br />the Agreement. <br />John Williams would like to have in town organization use only. John would like <br />a master calendar in the school. <br />A discussion on scheduling took place. <br />B. New Business - <br />BXD- Community Action Statement - Gus is working at developing another <br />statement for over the next three years. Prioritize some of the activities, <br />programs, facilities that we need over the next three years. Gus would like to get <br />a Grant to do work at Rec bldg. $30,000 was received this year for Handicapped <br />
