• Drop off is in the main parking lot against the property designated for drop
off/pick-up and temporary parking (on preschool side). PLEASE, THESE
PARKING AREAS ARE NOT FOR EXTENDED OR PERMANENT
PARKING DURING THE SCHOOL DAY.
• Preschool parents/guardians must use the main parking lot against the
property also. Please do not use the circle in front of the building for
preschool drop off and pick up.
• Parking in the circle at the front of the building is allowed only between
9:30am and 1:30pm.
• Students will not be allowed to ride on a different bus for an afternoon play
date.
• It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian/adult designee to escort the
child(ren) to the sidewalk.
• When dropping off, students cannot arrive prior to 8:40am. There is no
supervision for students prior to this time. Students arriving from 8:40am
until school opens will remain outdoors until permitted into the building by
staff on duty. (On inclement weather days, students will report to the
cafeteria until class begins.)
STUDENT CONDUCT ON SCHOOL BUSSES
The School Committee and its staff share with students and parents/guardians the responsibility for
student safety during transportation to and from school. The authority for enforcing School
Committee requirements of student conduct on busses will rest with the Principal.
To ensure the safety of all students who ride busses, it may occasionally be necessary to revoke the
privilege of transportation from a student who abuses this privilege. Parents/guardians of children
whose behavior and misconduct on school busses endangers the health, safety and welfare of other
riders will be notified that their children face the loss of transportation privileges in accordance with
regulations approved by the School Committee.
STUDENT BUS RIDER CODE OF ETHICS
Good conduct is essential to bus safety. How you behave while on the school bus is our concern.
We want you to feel safe, to enjoy your ride to and from school, to understand that you are actually in
school, guided by school rules, while you are on the bus or at the bus stop. The following rules of
conduct must be obeyed.
DO:
• Talk quietly with your friends
• Remain seated while the bus is in motion
• Be on time at the bus stop
• Obey the bus driver
• Enjoy your ride to and from school
• Know the emergency exits on the bus
DON'T:
• Switch seats
• Eat, drink or smoke on the bus
• Damage school bus equipment
• Talk to the bus driver while the bus is in motion
• Talk loudly, shout or scream
25
