L <br /> Motion to indefinitely postpone defeated at 9:28 p.m. <br /> Motion passes 154-2 at 9:36 p.m. <br /> Article 29 + <br /> To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen to transfer that parcel of land <br /> shown on the 1999 Mashpee Assessors' Maps as Map 62, Blocks 244, containing 6.34 acres, <br /> more or less and located between Carleton Drive, Ashers Path and Route 28, to the Mashpee <br /> Housing Authority for the purpose of constructing affordable senior housing and associated uses <br /> under the "Local Initiative Program" or any other appropriate affordable housing program, with <br /> such transfer to be made subject to a deed restriction, which may contain a reverter clause, <br /> permanently restricting the property to said uses, and also subject to a restriction requiring that <br /> all development on said parcel be connected to a denitrifying wastewater treatment facility <br /> approved by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection or to a municipal sewer <br /> system; and further, vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen to petition the General Court for <br /> special legislation authorizing such transfer and restrictions if necessary, to make use of other <br /> agencies and instrumentalities of the Town and to enter into any agreements necessary to effect <br /> the transfer of such land in accordance with this Article, or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Board of Selectmen <br /> Explanation: This article would authorize the selectmen to transfer title to a parcel of Land at <br /> the corner of Route 28 and Ashers Path to the Mashpee Housing Authority for construction of an <br /> affordable senior housing development similar to the Authority's existing Homeyer Village on <br /> Jobs Fishing Road.
