Requests a Special Permit under Section 10.2.4 of the Zoning By -Law <br />for permission to install a new sign in a C-1 zoning district on property <br />located at Mashpee Commons, Route 28 and Route 151, (Map 74, Lot 20) Mashpee, <br />MA. <br />Members sitting: W. Hanrahan, M. Makunas, R. Halpern <br />Owen Tegan represented this petition. He presented photos of the present <br />Angelo's sign calling it non -conforming due to size of 192 sf. He had originally <br />proposed a 150 sf sign but, after meeting with the Building Inspector, had <br />reduced the size to 95 sf -- 2'6" x 38' -- which brings the size to within <br />5% of the roof area. The color of the letters has been changed from red <br />to ivory: The sign will be indirectly illuminated from below. <br />Mr. Makunas questioned if the cedar shingles on the roof would be discolored <br />when the present sign is removed. Mr. Tegan did not think the appearance <br />of the roof would be a problem. Mr. Makunas suggested bleaching the roof, <br />if necessary, when the new sign is installed. <br />Mr. Makunas moved to grant the Special Permit. Mr. Halpern seconded. <br />All agreed. <br />Edward H. and Marian H.'Schmuhl - Request a Variance under Section <br />• 7.1 and Section .7.4 of the Land Space Requirements for permission to vary <br />the side set -back requirements in an R-3 zoning district on property located <br />at 152 Whipporwill Circle (Map 125, Lot 142) Mashpee, MA. <br />Members sitting: W. Hanrahan; M. Makunas, C. Hawver <br />Mr. Schmuhl presented plans showing the location of an above -ground <br />pool which had been moved to the property from another location. He explained <br />that he had instructed the installer to measure the distance from the lot <br />line before setting up the pool. The installer placed the pool 12' from <br />the lot line rather than the required 15'. <br />. Mr. Hanrahan explained that the.plans, as presented, were for bank <br />use only and did not represent exact measurements of the property lines. <br />Mr. Makunas noted that the application was incomplete. Mr. Schmuhl was <br />advised to have certified plans prepared. <br />Mr. Makunas motioned to deny the application with prejudice. Ms. Hawver <br />seconded. All agreed. <br />Matilda T. Lizak - Requests a Special Permit under Section 6.3.D.1 and <br />Section 6.3.E.1 of the Land Use Regulations for permission to build office <br />and retail sales space in a C-2 zoning district on property located at 486 <br />Main St. Route 130 (Map 27, Lot 123) Mashpee, MA. <br />• <br />
