14; BOARD OF APPEALS <br />MINUTES <br />• November 30, 1988 <br />At 7:30 P.M. on Wednesday, November 30, the Board of Appeals held a <br />meeting at the Mashpee Town Hall. Board members present and acting throughout <br />were William Hanrahan, Cheryl Hawver, Michael Makunas, Richard Halpern and <br />Edward Govoni. Mr. Douglas Boyd, Building Inspector, was in attendance. <br />MELVIN AND MARCELLA BRADSHAW _ Request a Special Permit under Section <br />6.3.I.9 of the Land Use Requirements for permission to construct a wooden <br />dock with two floats in an R-3 zoning district on property located at <br />58 Popponesset Island Road (Map 106 - Lot 25) Mashpee, MA. <br />Members sitting: W. Hanrahan, M. Makunas, C. Hawver <br />Mr. Hanrahan announced that the Board had received a letter from <br />Christopher Costa, an engineer representing Mr. and Mrs. Bradshaw,. asking. <br />for a continuance to January 11, 1989 and granting a 45 -day extension in <br />the hearing date calendar. <br />Mrs. Hawver moved to grant the extension. Mr. Makunas seconded. All <br />agreed. <br />PATRICIA CRONAN - Requests a Special Permit under Section 5.1 of the <br />• Zoning By-law Requirements for permission to expand a non -conforming structure <br />in an R-3 zoning district on property located at 155 Popponesset Island <br />Road (Map 112, Lot 13) Mashpee, MA. <br />Members sitting: W. Hanrahan, M. Makunas, C. Hawver <br />Attorney Kevin Kerraine represented this petition. He presented plans <br />and photographs showing proposed renovation and expansion of a non -conforming <br />structure. He explained that the lot was thought to be under the New Seabury <br />Special Permit zoning but owners had discovered that it was excluded. <br />The additions to the house will result in an 11' sideline setback <br />and do not impact on the original zoning which permitted 10' setbacks. <br />Mr. Kerraine stated that the plan does comply with Section 5 of the by-law <br />and will not be substantially more detrimental to the neighborhood than <br />the present structure. No abutters were present. <br />Mr. Makunas commented that if there were no structure on the property <br />the owners would be permitted to build without the Special Permit. <br />Mr. Makunas moved to grant the Special Permit. Mrs. Hawver seconded. <br />All agreed. <br />0 <br />
