b LEISURE SERVICES ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETING DECEMBER 5. 1995 MASHPEE MIDDLE SCHOOL - CONFERENCE ROOM Present: Absent: Also Present: Maureen Paxton George Costa Gus Frederick Linda Young Terrie Cook John Williams Elisa IvIeunier Ron Roberts Pat Riley I., Opening - Maureen opened the meeting at the Mashpee Middle School Room 133 at 6:30 PM. II. Secretary's Report - Linda Young made a motion to approve the Minutes of the last meeting - November 7, 1995. Elisa seconded. Motion carried. ITT. Communications - Gus disussed capital improvement expenses. There are two priority items: 1. Vehicle - A bus which would cost approximately $20,000 and 2. Possible expansion of Rec Bldg. on Rte. 130. Capital Improvement meetings will be held December 19, January 9, and January 23 at 3:30 PM at Mashpee Town Hall. At the next Leisure Services Advisory Council meeting on January 3, Gus will have Operating Budget for fiscal 1997. IV. Reports - A. Old Business 1. Update Computerized Registration - Ron Roberts introduced Mr. Roger Derosier of Automated Key Strokes who discussed the Qand A program for a data base system. Gus mentioned the need for networking between school and office at Town Hall. Gus asked that a separate meeting take place to further discuss computer needs. 2. Recreation Plan - Linda Young discussed her meeting with the Architect regarding the changes at the Recreation Building. She indicated that the Architect thought the $300,000 price was about right and also to look at another possible $75,000 to do the basement. Gus mentioned that one way to get additional money would be through a Grant. A discussion took place on the needs of having a home base for the Kids ,'.aub programs indicating that the Recreation Building could possible be part of the school bus route. Gus mentioned that it would be a good idea to look at the design of the building and suggested Linda Young, Peg Geary, Suzanne Cogswell, and Ron Roberts give input on needs of building for design purposes. Gus passed out additional information on the Recreation Plan and said that a discussion would take place at the next meeting.
