Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes 3 <br /> January 4, 1999 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS <br /> Public Comment: (continued) <br /> Selectman Caffyn suggested the newly formed Open Space Committee <br /> make a recommendation to the Selectmen regarding appointment before the <br /> next scheduled Selectmen's Meeting on January 11, 1999. In addition, <br /> the Board should be aware of specific votes taken by the committee prior to <br /> the appointment process indicated Selectman Caffyn. Agenda: 1/11/99. <br /> COMMUNICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE <br /> Selectmen's Visioning Session- Summary- <br /> Mr. Whritenour,Executive Secretary presented the Selectmen with a summary <br /> of the recent visioning workshop session. The Board will further review the <br /> material at a later date. <br /> William Fisher-Environmental Cons tants <br /> Mr. William Fisher,Environmental Consultant for Woodard& Curran <br /> is scheduled to conduct an informational meeting on plumes impacting the <br /> Town of Mashpee on Monday,January 11, 1999. <br /> Selectman Caffyn suggested that the EPA and DEP be notified, and invited <br /> to attend the ad hoc meeting. <br /> In other MMR issues, Mr. Whritenour indicated that the SD-5 update was <br /> scheduled by the military on this date which has presented a direct conflict <br /> with the Selectmen's regular meeting schedule. He is making an attempt to <br /> schedule an additional meeting relative to this important matter. <br /> OLD BUSINESS: <br /> Request for Extension of Unpaid Leave: <br /> Correspondence was received from Cynthia Sturges,Community Development <br /> Administrator dated December 10, 1998 requesting the Selectmen approve her <br /> unpaid leave of absence. It is her intention to return to work on January 4,1999. <br />
