10 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> August 7, 2000 <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Approval of Two(2)Pole Hearings: <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to approve Bell Atlantic Petition <br /> 00-28 for placement of(1) stub pole on Redbrook Road and Bell <br /> Atlantic Petition 00-28A for placement of(1)jointly owned pole also <br /> located on Redbrook Road with the use of a detail police officer. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Marsters. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Canal Auto Body Discussion: <br /> William Haney, the owner of Lakeside Trailer Park presented a petition to <br /> the Selectmen representing 150 signatures in opposition to the proposed <br /> development by Canal Auto Body. Several residents of the adjacent <br /> Lakeside and Southport Community were present and voiced objection to <br /> the particular use of the property at the site location known as 64 <br /> Algonquin Avenue. <br /> It was noted that the auto body project proposal is expected to go before <br /> the Board of Health and Zoning Board of Appeals this week. <br /> After a lengthy discussion, the Selectmen agreed to remit correspondence <br /> to the Zoning Board of Appeals requesting they defer their final decision <br /> on the project proposal until such time the Board of Health has ruled on <br /> the matter. In addition,the Board agreed to make note of the Zone H <br /> recharge area in their letter of correspondence which will be forwarded to <br /> the Board of Health for review. <br />
