To see if the Town will vote to authorize the hiring of a <br />skilled laborer to permanent status to work for the Highway Department. The <br />salary to be left to the discretion of the Personnel Board or take any other action <br />' thereon. <br />ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded to indefinitely postpone Article 33. <br />Motion carried - 125 for; 73 opposed. <br />The meeting was adjourned at 11:15 p.m. It was resumed Tuesday, May 13, 1975, <br />at 7:10 p.m. with a quorum of 239 Present. <br />Article 34. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate or take from <br />available funds the sum of $7,081.98 to be transferred to the Highway Department's <br />Full -Time Men Salary Account for the salary of one Full -Time Skilled Laborer or <br />take any other action thereon. <br />ACTION: No action. <br />Article 35. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum <br />of money not to exceed $18,659.00 for the maintenance and construction of town <br />roads. Such a sum of money, represneting a portion of funds available under <br />Chapter 497, Acts of 1971 (Highway Fund) to appear as a credit on the 1976 <br />"Cherry Sheet", or take any other action thereon. <br />ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded toaccept Article 35 as read. <br />Motion carried. <br />' Article 36. To see if the Town will vote to transfer the sum of $12,281.00 <br />from the proceeds received from the state under provisions of Sectionl, Chapter 825, <br />Acts of 1974, for the reconstruction, maintenance, repair of public highways and <br />bridges, and the enforcement of traffic laws on such roads within the town as may be <br />approved by the Board of Selectmen and act fully thereon. <br />ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded to accept Article 36 as read. <br />A unanimous vote. <br />Article 37. To see if the Town will vote to transfer the sum of $30,702.00 <br />from the proceeds received from the State, under the provisions of Section 3, <br />Chapter 825, Acts of 1974 for the moving, refinishing, and remodeling of the <br />Recreation center, for the construction of two (2) tennis courts; for the construction <br />of a Little League field at Pocknett's Field; and for the construction of an <br />outdoor basketball court. <br />ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded to amend Article 37 as follows: <br />To see if the Town will vote totake from available funds the sum of $22,719.68 for <br />the moving, refinishing, and remodeling of the Recreation Center and for the the <br />construction of a Little League field at Pocknett Field. Motion duly made and <br />seconded to accept Article 37 as amended. Motion carried. <br />Article 38: To see if the Town will vote to approve the position of an Arts <br />& Crafts Instructor to be employed for a period of nine weeks. <br />ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded to accept Article 38 as read. a vote. <br />Article 39: To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or take <br />from available funds the sum of $616.50 to be transferred to the Park & Recreation <br />Department "Wages - Arts & Crafts Instructors" Account. <br />ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded to amend Article to read: <br />To see if the Town will vote to take from available funds the sum of $800.00 <br />to be transferred to the Park & Recreation Department "Wages - Arts & Crafts Instructors' <br />Account.
