352 <br />r� <br />Annual Town Meeting Page 8 May 3, 1976 <br />Fq4 <br />ARTICLE 11. To see if the Town will vote to make the following changes in <br />the October 27, 1975 Revised Edition of the By -Laws of the Town of Mashpee: <br />Chapter I, Article III, Section 1 -- "These By -Laws may be amended at any <br />Annual Town Meeting provided that an article or articles for that purpose be <br />included in the Town Warrant." <br />by inserting after "annual Town Meeting" the words "or Special Town Meeting". <br />Submitted by the Board of Selectmen. <br />ACTION: Moved and seconded to accept Article 11 as read. Vote carried. <br />ARTICLE 12. To see if the Town will vote to make the following changes in <br />, <br />the October 27, 1975 Revised Edition of the By -Laws of the Town of Mashpee: <br />Chapter II, Article 1, Section 9 --"Commencing in 1975, the Selectmen shall <br />appoint the Superintendent of Streets for a term of one (1) year." <br />by deleting the words "one (1) year" and inserting the words "from one(1) to <br />three (3) years" in place thereof. Submitted by the Board of Selectmen. <br />ACTION: Moved and seconded that Article 12 be tabled. Vote carried. <br />ARTICLE 13. To see if.the'Town will vote to add the following to the <br />October 27, 1975 Revised Edition of the By -Laws of the Town of Mashpee by <br />inserting Chapter II, Article 1, Section15 the following: <br />"The Selectmen shall appoint a Shellfish Constable pursuant to the provisions <br />of Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 130, Section 98, for a term of three years." <br />Submitted by the Board of Selectmen. <br />ACTION: Moved and seconded to accept Article 13 as read. Vote carried. <br />ARTICLE 14. To see if the Town will vote to make the following changes in <br />the October 27, 1975 Revised Edition of the By -Laws of the Town of Mashpee: <br />Chapter II, Article XIV, Section 1 - Town Contracts -- "On all contracts for <br />labor, materials, supplies; equipment, merchandise or other artticles, wherein the <br />amount involved is $500.00 or more, the board, department, committee or officials <br />of the town in charge of the expenditure of such money, shall be required to <br />submit the awarding of the same to public bid and no expenditure shall be permitted <br />of $500.00 or in excess thereof unless the same shall have been awarded upon public <br />bid." <br />by deleting $500.00 and by inserting $1,000.00" in place thereof. Submitted by <br />the Board of Selectmen. <br />Not Recommended by Finance Committee. <br />ACTION: Moved and seconded that Article 14 be Indefinitely Postponed. <br />Vote carried. <br />ARTICLE 15. To see if the Town will vote to make the following changes <br />in the October 27, 1975 Revised Edition of the By -Laws of the Town of Mashpee: <br />Chapter II, Article XIV, Section 2 -- "All capital expenditures purchases <br />(i.e. desks, chairs, typewriters, cabinets, etc.) of $50.00 or more will be <br />submitted to the Board of Selectmen for approval before the purchase is consummated." <br />by deleting 11$50.00" and by inserting "$150.00" in place thereof. -Submitted by ■ <br />the Board of Selectmen. <br />Recommended by Finance Committee. <br />ACTION: Moved and seconded to accept Article 15 as read. Vote carried. <br />
