415 <br />TOWN OF MASHPEE <br />SPECIAL TOWN MEETING WARRANT <br />May 1, 1978 <br />THE COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS <br />Barnstable, ss: <br />To the Constable of the Town of Mashpee Greetings: <br />In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are <br />hereby directed to notify and summons the inhabitants of the <br />' Town of Mashpee, who are qualified to vote in the elections, <br />to meet at Queen of All Saints Church on Monday, the first day <br />of May, 1978, at seven o'clock, p.m., to act on the articles <br />contained'in the following'warrant: <br />A quorum present, Moderator Frank Leonardi opened the <br />meeting at 7:20 p.m. Tellers were Mary Potter, Eleanor Thax- <br />ton, Marian Folkins, Grace Maddox, Alexis Hanson, Nancy <br />Cannata. A motion was made and seconded to adjourn the Annual <br />Town Meeting until after the Special Town Meeting. Motion <br />carried. <br />ARTICLE 1. To see if the Towh will vote to rescind the action <br />taken on Article 38 of the May 2, 1977 Annual Town Meeting: <br />"Article 38 --Action - Motion made and seconded to amend <br />Article 38 to read: To see if the Town will raise and appro- <br />priate the sum of $30,534.00 to be expended in conjunction <br />with highway construction under Chapter 90 guidelines: <br />$7,634.00 representing the Town's share and $22,900.00 repre- <br />senting the State's share. These monies to defray the cost of <br />construction of Old Barnstable'Road. The State's share, when <br />reimbursed, to be returned to Surplus Revenue." (Submitted by <br />the Highway Department) <br />ACTION: Motion made and seconded that Article 1 be <br />' accepted as read. Motion carried. <br />ARTICLE 2. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appro- <br />priate the sum of $30,534.00 to be expended in conjunction <br />with highway construction under Chapter 90 guidelines: <br />$7,634.00 representing the Town's share and $22,900.00 repre- <br />senting the State's share; these monies to defray the cost of <br />construction of Old Barnstable Road and Great Neck Road. The <br />State's share, when reimbursed, to be returned to Surplus <br />Revenue. (Submitted by the Highway Department) <br />ACTION: Motion made and seconded that Article 2 be <br />accepted as read. Motion carried. <br />ARTICLE 3. To see if the Town will vote to amend Chapter II <br />Article XIII Section 7 of the Town By -Laws by deleting the <br />words, "January 1st" and substituting therefor the words, <br />"May 15th"; and by deleting the words, "February 15th" and <br />substituting therefore the words "June 30th". <br />Section 7 will then read: All department heads of the Town <br />shall prepare and submit to the Selectmen between May 15th and <br />no later than June 30th of each year a complete inventory of <br />all town -owned property for which their department is respon- <br />sible. (Submitted by the Board of Selectmen) <br />ACTION: Motion made and seconded that Article 3 be <br />accepted as read. A unanimous vote. <br />ARTICLE 4. To see if the Town will vote to take from avail- <br />able funds the sum of $600.00 or any other sum", to be applied <br />to the Bond Copy Machine Account or take any other action <br />thereon. (Submitted by the Board of Selectmen) <br />
