415 TOWN OF MASHPEE SPECIAL TOWN MEETING WARRANT May 1, 1978 THE COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS Barnstable, ss: To the Constable of the Town of Mashpee Greetings: In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby directed to notify and summons the inhabitants of the ' Town of Mashpee, who are qualified to vote in the elections, to meet at Queen of All Saints Church on Monday, the first day of May, 1978, at seven o'clock, p.m., to act on the articles contained'in the following'warrant: A quorum present, Moderator Frank Leonardi opened the meeting at 7:20 p.m. Tellers were Mary Potter, Eleanor Thax- ton, Marian Folkins, Grace Maddox, Alexis Hanson, Nancy Cannata. A motion was made and seconded to adjourn the Annual Town Meeting until after the Special Town Meeting. Motion carried. ARTICLE 1. To see if the Towh will vote to rescind the action taken on Article 38 of the May 2, 1977 Annual Town Meeting: "Article 38 --Action - Motion made and seconded to amend Article 38 to read: To see if the Town will raise and appro- priate the sum of $30,534.00 to be expended in conjunction with highway construction under Chapter 90 guidelines: $7,634.00 representing the Town's share and $22,900.00 repre- senting the State's share. These monies to defray the cost of construction of Old Barnstable'Road. The State's share, when reimbursed, to be returned to Surplus Revenue." (Submitted by the Highway Department) ACTION: Motion made and seconded that Article 1 be ' accepted as read. Motion carried. ARTICLE 2. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appro- priate the sum of $30,534.00 to be expended in conjunction with highway construction under Chapter 90 guidelines: $7,634.00 representing the Town's share and $22,900.00 repre- senting the State's share; these monies to defray the cost of construction of Old Barnstable Road and Great Neck Road. The State's share, when reimbursed, to be returned to Surplus Revenue. (Submitted by the Highway Department) ACTION: Motion made and seconded that Article 2 be accepted as read. Motion carried. ARTICLE 3. To see if the Town will vote to amend Chapter II Article XIII Section 7 of the Town By -Laws by deleting the words, "January 1st" and substituting therefor the words, "May 15th"; and by deleting the words, "February 15th" and substituting therefore the words "June 30th". Section 7 will then read: All department heads of the Town shall prepare and submit to the Selectmen between May 15th and no later than June 30th of each year a complete inventory of all town -owned property for which their department is respon- sible. (Submitted by the Board of Selectmen) ACTION: Motion made and seconded that Article 3 be accepted as read. A unanimous vote. ARTICLE 4. To see if the Town will vote to take from avail- able funds the sum of $600.00 or any other sum", to be applied to the Bond Copy Machine Account or take any other action thereon.
