-14-
Charles: This is directly opposite to the liquor warehouse.
Pauline: Yes.
Charles: What they want to do is put a bank in plus a condominium setup. That is why
New Seabury is looking for a change in zoning. They tabled it. Now, they are going
ahead with the bank.
Pauline: In today's paper in the legal section, they are coming back on an appeal.
Charles: They want' to sneak a condominium in there.
Pauline: That is what it says in the paper -- a variance for apartments.
Charles: There is one thing which has me rather puzzled and I don't know if it will fall
upon this Committee or on the Board of Health. Where there is a business entity such as
the New Seabury shopping center and whatnot, rather than allowing them to lead all water
into drainage that a lagoon be considered in order to collect the drain off from the park-
in? lots and whatnot with vegetation in it which will begin to break down the hydrocarbons
that you get from flushing a parking area as it rains and then allowing that water to come
into the ground rather than directly transferring it into anaerobic situation which doesn't
seem to break down oils and gasses.
Pauline: In other words, it will be a beauty spot also plus the lagoon.
Charles: I wish you would write to the MACC legal group or whatnot to find out whether
that part of the planning of the thing should be initiated by the Conservation Commission
or whether it comes under the perview of the Board of Health in quality of water being ad-
mitted to the aquafor.
SV43-118
Mr. Morse is filing an appeal. He does not want to lift his pier out every year.
Falmouth Rod & Gun Club Conservation Restriction, etc.
Pauline: My husband went through his £iles,'and figured that this copy of the Falmouth
Rod & Gun Conservation Restriction would be better for the Conservation Commission. Also,
the Town of Barnstable restriction guidelines on conservation for assessors and So. Dennis'
guidelines. Also, he came across this and he didn't know why the assessors had it -- it is
a map showing the Mashpee Rod & Gun Club. This is for our file.
Chemical Contamination
The book on Chemical Contamination was received which we requested.
Public Notice Proposed General Permit #GP 80-033 . -- Maintainance of Mosquito Control
in Salt Water Wetlands in Massachusetts. We received a copy of this from the Department
of the Army.
