The ballot question referenced as Question 1 asks if the Town of Mashpee
shall be allowed to exempt from the provisions of proposition 21/2 so called, the amount required to pay
for the bonds to be issued in order to replace roofs, soffits, windows and doors at the Quashnet School,
150 Old Barnstable Road, including the payment of costs incidental or related thereto.
It was disclosed the Town of Mashpee would not have the ability to finance this type of project within
the constraints of proposition 21/2. Therefore, it is recommended the project be funded through a debt
exclusion which would require a 2/3d's vote of approval at the May 2017 Town Meeting.
