6 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> April 12, 2017 <br /> APPOINTMENTS &HEARINGS <br /> Deborah Dami, Town Clerk: <br /> Approval of change of start time for Annual Town Election: (continued) <br /> Discussion followed with respect to the early start time of the annual election which accommodates <br /> work schedules. The possibility of returning to the Saturday schedule was also given consideration. <br /> After a brief review it was determined the hours for the May election would remain the same. The <br /> Board agreed to revisit this matter prior to the October Town meeting as a bylaw change would be <br /> required. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Sherman to take no action on the request to change the start time of <br /> the Annual Town Election at this time. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 3-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Gottlieb and Selectman Cahalane recused. Selectman O'Hara,yes <br /> Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman Sherman,yes Opposed,none <br /> Approval of Election Warrant: <br /> Deborah Dami, Town Clerk was in attendance to recommend the Board approve the May 16,2017 <br /> Annual Town Election Warrant. The ballot includes Question 1, a debt exclusion question to pay for the <br /> bonds to be issued to replace roofs, soffits,windows and doors at the Quashnet School, and Question 2 a <br /> non-binding question requesting communication with Governor Baker regarding the Pilgrim Nuclear <br /> Power Station. <br /> In addition to the approval of the Annual Town Election Warrant,Mrs. Dami requested the Board of <br /> Selectmen vote to add the debt exclusion question to the ballot. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Sherman to approve the May 16,2017 Annual Town Election <br /> Warrant adding Question#1 to the ballot. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectmen O'Hara. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman Cahalane,yes Selectman O'Hara,yes <br /> Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman Sherman,yes Opposed,none <br />
