Finance Committee <br /> February 26 1986 <br /> Page 3 . <br /> At 5 : 30 p . m. the Finance Committee adjourned and reconvened <br /> in the Selectmen ' s Office for a meeting with Selectmen , Hanson , <br /> Terry and Thomas and Executive Secretary Murphy . There were <br /> two items of . discussion the cemetery and the Board Secretary <br /> Wage Account . <br /> Cemetery <br /> The Selectmen stated that the ceinetery is near <br /> full , and needs to be expanded . Chairman Blythe stressed the <br /> need for accurate record keeping and starting fresh records <br /> ire the new area . He suggested going to the surrounding towns <br /> to observe the record systems they utilize. - <br /> The Board moored to appoint a Cemetery Commission . Individuals <br /> interested rust notify the Selectmen by April 1 and appointments <br /> of three people for staggered three—year terms will be rude by <br /> April 9 . The Commission would be requested to make recommenda— <br /> tions <br /> co m nda— <br /> tions b October I <br /> The Board of Selectmen scaled back the article for the <br /> cemetery account from $25 , 000 to $5 , 000 with the condition money <br /> be expended only with the approval of the Cemetery Commission . <br /> The Selectmen moved to proceed with the article for the <br /> engineering of the new cemetery , <br /> Vern was requested . to prepare a proposed financial <br /> structure for the present and the future cemetery . <br /> An article for $2 , 500 would be inserted in the annual town <br /> meeting to offset cost in operation of the cemetery beginning <br /> July 1 . Funds received by the town would go into the towns <br /> treasury and there is an appropriation to handle the cemetery <br /> expenses . <br /> Board Secretary Wage Account <br /> Chairman Blythe brought the escalating cost of the Board <br /> Secretary Wage Account to the attention of the Selectmen . He <br /> noted that he felt the Personnel Board was not familiar with the <br /> various committees and the Board of Selectmen was more aware of <br /> the deferent committees and heir duties . Fred cited several <br /> advisory boards and expressed the FinanceCommittee ' s opinion <br /> that board secretary wages were out—of—line . <br />
