Finance Committee February 26 1986 Page 3 . At 5 : 30 p . m. the Finance Committee adjourned and reconvened in the Selectmen ' s Office for a meeting with Selectmen , Hanson , Terry and Thomas and Executive Secretary Murphy . There were two items of . discussion the cemetery and the Board Secretary Wage Account . Cemetery The Selectmen stated that the ceinetery is near full , and needs to be expanded . Chairman Blythe stressed the need for accurate record keeping and starting fresh records ire the new area . He suggested going to the surrounding towns to observe the record systems they utilize. - The Board moored to appoint a Cemetery Commission . Individuals interested rust notify the Selectmen by April 1 and appointments of three people for staggered three—year terms will be rude by April 9 . The Commission would be requested to make recommenda— tions co m nda— tions b October I The Board of Selectmen scaled back the article for the cemetery account from $25 , 000 to $5 , 000 with the condition money be expended only with the approval of the Cemetery Commission . The Selectmen moved to proceed with the article for the engineering of the new cemetery , Vern was requested . to prepare a proposed financial structure for the present and the future cemetery . An article for $2 , 500 would be inserted in the annual town meeting to offset cost in operation of the cemetery beginning July 1 . Funds received by the town would go into the towns treasury and there is an appropriation to handle the cemetery expenses . Board Secretary Wage Account Chairman Blythe brought the escalating cost of the Board Secretary Wage Account to the attention of the Selectmen . He noted that he felt the Personnel Board was not familiar with the various committees and the Board of Selectmen was more aware of the deferent committees and heir duties . Fred cited several advisory boards and expressed the FinanceCommittee ' s opinion that board secretary wages were out—of—line .
