i <br /> 4 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> January 6, 2003 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> VFW Post 5489,.—Hem n : (continued) <br /> The Selectmen indicated that it is not their intention to revoke the license, <br /> but they do not want this occurrence to happen again. It was agreed that <br /> the Town Admin'strator would meet with a representative of the VFW to <br /> further review and define the rules and regulations of said license. During <br /> a sponsored event, a VW representative must be on the premises. All <br /> patrons must also vacate the premise one-half hour after the 11:00 p.m. <br /> license limitation. <br /> Selectman Taylor opined the Hearing to solicit comment. <br /> ment. <br /> Peter Goulet, Mashpee Shores Association President indicated that the <br /> building was sublet to.a non-VFW member without VFW members <br /> present. Activities for a younger than eighteen year old party vent well <br /> beyond the license curfew. <br /> Mr. Goulet suggested the VFW adhere to the curfew and obey the laws <br /> placed upon them. The VFW should be respectful of the neighborhood as <br /> they are to them as here is a need for peace and harmony amongst the <br /> neighborhood and heir families, Mr. Goulet also requested that the <br /> landscape berm at the entrance be further delineated. <br /> Mashpee Shores resident Lauren Johnson-Lavender also requested that the <br /> VFW be considerate of the area,neighborhood. Where should be mutual <br /> respect and consideration of both sloes explained Ms..Johnson in concern <br /> for recent noise disturbances. <br /> Being no further comment,the Board-motioned to close the Public <br /> Hearing, <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to issue a stern warning to the <br /> Mashpee Memorial VFW Post 5489. Said warning shall be retained <br /> on fie for the December 13, 2002 violation of the terms of the liquor <br /> and entertainment license of the VFW Post 5489 at property located <br /> at 470 Main Street,Mashpee. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Marters, <br /> VOTE., Unanimous. -o. <br /> Selectman Leeille absent. <br />
