Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> May 12, 2003 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Greg,Smith—Save Poppnsset Bar: <br /> Greg Smith, President of Save Popponesset Bay was present with David <br /> Dwork of Barron& Stadfeld, P.C. to discuss issues pertaining to theMn <br /> Farm proposal. <br /> It was noted that Save Popponesset.Bay is the only recognized Intervener <br /> in the Town of Mashpee that is opposing the Cape Wind proposal, As an <br /> Intervener, Save Popponesset Bay can file questions, objections and <br /> comments to this project through legal counsel. <br /> The Town of Mashpee missed the deadline for becoming an Intervener. <br /> Having mutual advantage and a common interest in this natter, it was <br /> recommended that the Town collaborate with Save Popponesset Bay to <br /> pursue the common objective'of opposing the wind Farm proposal. <br /> It was indicated that the secondary route proposal would traverse under <br /> the Popponesset Spit through Popponesset Bay and onto Mashpee <br /> roadways. <br /> It was disclosed that the Alliance to Save Nantucket Sound, Inc. has filed <br /> a notion to suspend the procedural proceedings. Cape Wind Associates <br /> and NStar Electric have until mid-May to respond. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cabalane to give full support to Save <br /> Popponesset Bay,Inc. in any regards as an Intervener in opposition to <br /> the Cape wind,LIC proposal, and consult Town Counsel with <br /> respect to the Town being designated and recognized as Intervener <br /> status. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. �O. <br />
