MASHPEE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS <br /> MEETING MINUTES <br /> OCTOBER 25,201..7 <br /> Chainnan Furbush announced he will be sitting in on this hearing along with Board <br /> Members, Scott Goldstein, Dom DeBarros, Brad Pittsley, and Norman J. Gould. <br /> Mr. Preston Landers, the owner of P.A. Landers, Inc. represented himself regarding this <br /> project. He said that he created the access road leaving the plant because it was unsafe for <br /> vehicles leaving the site due to the bend in the road on Route 130.He also owns the building <br /> that is located in the front of the construction site that is currently being renovated. He is <br /> requesting approval to use the driveway that abuts the property to exit the site on the left <br /> which increases the safety for anyone leaving the site. He said that Catherine Laurent, the <br /> DPW Director walked the site and was satisfied with the turning radius. <br /> Chairman Furbush reviewed a plan of the site with Mr. Landers. Mr. Furbush said he was <br /> at the site and noticed that there is a ramp and a wall behind the existing building. He said <br /> that the wall is in disrepair. <br /> Mr. Goldstein read comments from Catherine Laurent, DPW Director, dated Thursday, <br /> September 21, 2017, and Wednesday, September 13, 2017 into the record. <br /> Mr. Furbush read an email dated October 12, 2017 from Charlie Rowley, asking Tom <br /> Fudala, Town Planner if this project would involve the Planning Board. Mr. Fudala said <br /> that this project is under the Zoning Board Special Permit. <br /> Mr,Goldstein read comments from Glen Harrington,Board of Health Agent,dated October <br /> 19, 2017, and October 24, 2017 into the record. <br /> Mr. Furbush asked Mr. Landers if he is proposing a bakery as a tenant, and Mr. Landers <br /> said he is researching that. Mr.Furbush told him that he would have to present any changes <br /> in use to the Site/Plan Review Committee. <br /> Mr. Furbush said that there doesn't seem to be any issues but would like Charlie Rowley <br /> to take a look at the,road, and also look at the ramp that is very narrow. Mr. Furbush said <br /> he has no other issues. <br /> Mr. Walter Gourdin,Operations Manager spoke and said that this application is in front of <br /> the Board for permission to access the driveway, and that the building is a separate issue <br /> that they can address later. This application is only for the exit and entrance of the road. <br /> Mr. Furbush said he would prefer the Town Engineer to review the proposal and get his <br /> okay. Mr. Furbush said he does not have any engineering knowledge. <br /> Mr. Goldstein made a motion to continue the application for 628 Main Street modification <br /> request be continued until December 13, 2017 to have Charlie Rowley, Town Engineer to <br /> review the turning radius, the exiting from the property as well as the Board of Health <br /> comments regarding the potential problems regarding the slope of the ramp. <br /> 2 <br />
