Landers, Inc.,to address the specific requests with the Board
that were discussed regarding the creation of the driveway/roadway.
Mr. Preston Landers, owner of the P.A. Landers, Inc. is seeking a permit to use the
driveway at 628 Main St. to accommodate and access the abutting property at 608 Main
St. He said he made a few changes to the plan specifically the turning radius that was
requested by Catherine Laurent at the DPW. The real reason for the access road is safety
so his trucks can make a left out of the driveway safely because of the bad curve in the
road. The building in front has garage space underneath and there's a ramp where cars
would have access. Mr. Landers proposed a stop line at the top of the ramp with a double-
yellow line to delineate the Ianes. He said they also proposed a double yellow line from
Rte. 130 down the middle of the road with a stop line to the right hand turn at the exit of
the property. He also proposed a yield sign at the top of the ramp. The use of the garage is
for storage by his employees only.
Mr. Landers said he has made some improvements to the building in the front to bring it
up to code. He has eight permits to comply with the requirements of the Town.
Mr. Furbush read the Board of Health comments into the record. He asked if the ramp will
be widened.
Mr. Mendoza had a discussion with the applicant regarding the parking and access to the
front of the building. Mr. Mendoza suggested that he lower the retaining wall for better
visual safety on the ramp with a yield or stop sign at the top of the ramp, and at the top of
the access road.
Mr. Landers doesn't anticipate any problems with drainage of the road. He also agreed to
put a sign on the property that the parking is for P.A. Landers employees only.
7
