NEW BUSINESS <br /> 1. Sign Expense Warrants. The Board members signed the expense warrants. <br /> 2. Review/Approve BOH Public Session Minutes: November 2, 20'17. <br /> Laurel Almquist made a motion that the Board of Health approve the Public Session minutes of November 2, <br /> 2017, as amended. Brian Baumgaertel seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved. <br /> 3. Request for 2018 Retail Food Permit: Naukabout Beer Company — 13 Lake Avenue. <br /> Glen Harrington commented that the Department of Public Health requires all alcohol serving establishments <br /> to obtain a food establishment permit from the Board of Health. The food at 13 Lake Avenue will be served by <br /> a mobile food truck who will obtain its own food permit. <br /> Peter Murner, owner of Naukabout Beer Company at 13 Lake Avenue, introduced himself to the Board. <br /> Mr. Murner remarked that he would like to apply for a retail food permit and wishes to open in early 2018. <br /> There will be a food truck on site, which will be handled by a separate entity. Permitting for alcohol is controlled <br /> through the Federal Government, State Government and Local Government. <br /> Mallory Langler made a motion that the Board of Health approve the 2017/2018 Retail Food Permit for <br /> Naukabout Beer Company pending final inspection by a Health Agent. Laurel Almquist seconded the motion. <br /> The motion was unanimously approved. <br /> 4. Request for 2018 Residential Kitchen Permit: Chopchague Farm — 56 Josephine Bend. <br /> Glen Harrington stated that Emma Mills Brennan would like to prepare foods in her home at 56 Josephine <br /> Bend in accordance with the residential kitchen permit. Ms. Brennan has obtained and provided her ServSafe <br /> Certificate. The menu, allergy awareness, and final inspection are yet to be completed. <br /> Ms. Brennan also requested that she be able to sell her products at the temporary food events for one fee and <br /> not pay the individual daily temporary food fee of$50.00. The Board has approved an annual fee of$100.00 <br /> for residential kitchens to sell their food at the temporary events. <br /> Laurel Almquist made a motion that the Board of Health approve the 2017/2018 Residential Kitchen Permit for <br /> Emma Mills Brennan pending submittal of a menu, Allergy Awareness Certificate, and satisfactory final <br /> inspection by a Health Agent. Also, approve the annual Temporary Food Event fee of$100.00. Mallory Langier <br /> seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved. <br /> 5. FYI —Animal Inspector Update 2017-2018 Season: Veronica Warden. <br /> Glen Harrington commented that the animal inspectors performed their annual barn inspections and submitted <br /> their invoices. The animals were counted, checked for the potential spread of disease and sanitary conditions. <br /> The number of animals that were quarantined for the May 1 through April 30 period was also included. The two <br /> animal inspectors appointed by the Board of Health and the State of Massachusetts are Veronica Warden and <br /> Donald Chicoine, <br /> 6. Variance Request to allow a grease recovery device inside the building in lieu of the required <br /> grease trap in the ground outside the building: The Chocolate Rose (628 Main Street). <br /> Mr. Harrington stated that Ms. Vanessa Benoit is the ownerfoperator of a baking and catering business and <br /> would like to expand to a larger operating space. She is requesting a variance to not install a 1000-gallon <br /> grease trap in the ground at 628 Main Street, which is owned by P.A. Landers. Ms. Benoit is asking to install a <br /> grease recovery device instead. <br /> Three variances have been requested and approved by the Board in the past with the following conditions: <br /> 1. The "Big Dipper Point Source Automatic Grease Removal System" Model #W-50015 is approved for <br /> installation. <br /> 2 <br />
