6 <br /> Community Preservation Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> December 13, 2016 <br /> Friends of the Mashpee National Wildlife Refuge—Trail Ma s: (continued) <br /> Ms. Fox indicated the Friends of the Mashpee National Wildlife Refuge are planning on <br /> requesting funding from the Town of Falmouth CPC for this project. If the Refuge brochure and <br /> trail map guide is supported, the cost would be reduced by one half. It is believed the success of <br /> the publication will engage greater public use of Refuge as well as Mashpee trails. It was agreed <br /> if this project is supported by the CPC;the brochure would acknowledge the use of Community <br /> Preservation funds contributing to this project. <br /> Letters of support for the project proposal were identified from the Planning Department, <br /> Conservation Commission, U.S. Fish&Wildlife Service, Town of Mashpee GIS Coordinator, <br /> the Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve/Department of Conservation Reserve and <br /> from the Mashpee Historical Commission. <br /> Ms. Fox indicated if the projects are fully funded, the total cost would be reduced by$1,430. <br /> Trail Mapping $15,230 <br /> History Project $10,130 <br /> Total $25,360 <br /> Minus $1,430 <br /> Revised Total: $23,930 (allocation per town=$11,965) <br /> Ms. Fox noted she has met with Carol Sutherland of the Falmouth Community Preservation <br /> Committee, and there is positive response in terms of eligibility for this project and in terms of <br /> the regional funding approach. The Friends of the Mashpee National Wildlife Refuge intend to <br /> submit an application to the Falmouth Community Preservation Committee in request of funding <br /> for both projects. <br /> Members of the Mashpee Community Preservation Committee agreed to remit communication to <br /> the Town of Falmouth CPC recommending this board vote frilly to not delay the project and to <br /> advise the Mashpee CPC fully supports the regional approach with an allocation from the Town <br /> of Falmouth to fund these projects. It was noted the Partners of the Mashpee Wildlife Refuge <br /> include the following; <br /> Mashpee Wampanoag Indian Tribal Council <br /> Orenda Wildlife Land Trust <br /> U.S. Fish&Wildlife Service <br /> Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve/MA Department of Conservation& <br /> Recreation <br /> MA Division of Fisheries and Wildlife <br /> Town of Mashpee/Mashpee Conservation Commission <br /> Town of Falmouth/Falmouth Conservation Commission <br />
