13 Lake Avenue (continued)
Steve Cook explained happenings on the outside and showed the Floor Plan.
• Doing a whole new roof and will put a cupola on top of the roof.
• Question: Mike Mendoza asked if building height would be raised.
Response: "No".
• Trim/windows will be dark green.
• New front door.
• New handicap ramp will go on the side.
• New glass overhead door; new windows added at side.
• Ripping side section off and will build a small hallway for staff access to
basement; will rebuild a new stairway to get to second floor office space
area.
Discussion:
Parking
Joe Cummings asked about lighting in the parking area. Also, he said the
parking spaces are 8'X17', which is below what is recommended today so would
have to be "grandfathered" in.
Peter Murner said they are going to test existing lighting to see if they meet
requirements. Mike Mendoza cautioned that they keep lighting facing down.
They will do so.
Kevin Kirrane said building capacity is 86 so they need 45 parking spaces. 25
spaces are on-site. They have had preliminary discussions with Town about
securing a license to use Town parking lot. They will limit number of people in
the building to capacity in parking available. If they get license from Town, then
they would increase capacity number. Joe Cummings said the lot closes at 7
p.m. and that's a good walking distance. Kevin said they would have a shuttle.
Signage
Showed 3 proposed signs-1 would be at Rt 130 with lights that point down,
colors as shown on Plan. Building number will be by door; not on sign.
Conclusion: Design Review Committee unanimously indicated they approved
the signage presented.
2
