MASHPEE CULTURAL COUNCIL Minutes of the Meeting Monday, November 14, 2016 Mashpee Senior Center Present: Nina Cocomazzi, Barbara Cotton (ex officio), Sarah Daley, Robert Mendes,John Miller, Marykate O'Brien, Bruce Taggart, Dawn Thayer, Lynne Waterman Meeting officially called to order at 9:00 a.m. L. Waterman made a motion to waive the October 31, 2016 minutes. J. Miller seconded the motion. All in favor. J. Miller made a motion to approve the minutes of October 31, 2016, with revisions. N. Cocomazzi seconded the motion. All in favor. Discussion of grant submission process. Members were asked to review this year's guidelines to be certain they are in line with the process. Discussion and review of MCC Grant Requests 2016. Final grant decisions as follows: Approvals R. Mendes made a motion to fund the Cotuit Center for the Arts (May Institute) in the amount of$500.00, M. O'Brien seconded the motion. All in favor. J. Miller abstained. N. Cocomazzi made a motion to fund Stephen Lewis (May Day Poster Exhibit,sponsored by MPL) in the amount of $40.00. R. Mendes seconded the motion. All in favor. J. Miller made a motion to fund Scott Jameson (Build a Better World Library, sponsored by MPL) in the amount of $525. L.Waterman seconded the motion. All in favor. M. O'Brien abstained. M. O'Brien made a motion to fund Song keepers(Groovalottos Traveling Show, sponsored by MTV) in the amount of $600. N Cocomazzi seconded the motion. All in favor. J. Miller made a motion to fund Jo-Ann Cabral (Engineering a Folk Tale, sponsored by CCCM) in the amount of $450.00. R. Mendes seconded the motion. All in favor. S. Daley abstained. R. Mendes made a motion to fund Janet Burke (Rainforest Reptiles, sponsored by MPL) in the amount of$350.00. M. O'Brien seconded the motion. All in favor. D. Thayer abstained. N. Cocomazzi made a motion to fund Mary Sullivan (Cape Cod Mini Maker Faire, sponsored by MHS) in the amount of $500.00. L. Waterman seconded the motion. All in favor. M. O'Brien abstained. M. O'Brien made a motion to fund the Boys and Girls Club (STEAM and Fine Arts, sponsored by B&G Club) in the amount of$450.00, R, Mendes seconded the motion. All in favor. L. Waterman made a motion to fund Barbara Cotton (3rd Annual Lego Home Build, sponsored by CCCM w/CCHB) in the amount of$550.00. J. Miller seconded the motion. All in favor. S. Daley abstained. N. Cocomazzi made a motion to fund Carolyn Savage (Brett Ooch Outchcunis, sponsored by Quashnet PTO) in the amount of$500.00. L.Waterman seconded the motion. All in favor. M.
