Ms. Jean Bowden introduced herself as a resident at Asher"s Path and stated that she just wanted the
board to know that she is very happy with her apartment at Asher's Path. It is a well run facility—well
maintained, safe, the staff does a great job and she is happy to be there,
The chairperson moved on to the next item on the agenda,
SECRETARY" REPORT:
Minutes for the regular meeting held on August 9, 2012 were mailed to members before the meeting. A
motion was made by Ms. Allen and seconded by Mr. Shackett to accept the minutes as
presented, The motion was adopted.
TREASURER'S REPORT:
Budget to Actual Ra ort: Mrs. Botsford presented the budget to actual report, prepared by the fee
accountant, and reviewed it with the board, explaining the variances. The report covered all 2 months of
fiscal year 2013. Mrs. Botsford pointed out that the report was based on Fiscal Year 2012 figures, as the
budget for fiscal year 2013 hasn't been done Yet; we are still waiting for Budget Guidelines from DHD.
Mrs. Botsford stated that the Budget Guidelines for Fiscal Year 2013 still have not been issued by DH .
Hopefully we will have guidelines soon and then the FY 2013 budget can be done. When Torn Jay cores
in to present that, he will do a review of FY 2012 as well,
Accounts Payables: Mrs. Botsford presented the warrants for signature. The warrants for signature
tonight are for the month of August 2012 and total as fellows: $29,.900.20 for 4001, $6,676.68 for Section
, $16,851.00 for M VP, $39,900.75 for Asher"s Path Apartments and $12,377.49 for the Housing
Assistance Program.
Dent Delinquencies, Mrs. Botsford reported that we have all residents paid in full at Breezy Acres. We
have one resident who hasn't paid at H me er Village and one at Asher's Path. Both are residents that
we have issued 30 Day Notice to Quits to for lease violations. we have one apartment at H meyer
Village that is now vacant and in the process of rehabbing. It should be occupied within the next 15-30
days.
A motion was made by Mr. Sha lett and seconded by Ms. Allen to accept the Treasurer's
Report as presented. The notion was adopted.
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR'S REPORT:
F T:
Mrs. Botsford mailed members her written reports for August and added the following report:
• DHCD suggested I attend Spectrum Symposium in Washington this November; so I've signed u
for that.
0 I attended the Leo Dauwer conference this year (haven't attended in several years) and it was
very, very good. Some time was dedicated to Massachusetts's Governer"s Commission and I was
asked to give an update on that.
I also may be attending the Attorney General's Procurement training in October, which is a three-
day intense training that offers a certification when done.
• New deer system at Asher"s Patti has been installed and is up and running. We hope that this
eliminates the long-standing issues that we have had with the system. Almost $8,000.00.
At meeting with Aher's Path residents, the flag pole lighting and raising and lowering was
brought up as an issue, so I've done some research in order to address their issues. Despite
ghat some residents think, I cannot find anything disallowing a light to be on the flag pole to
light the flag at right. There is no electricity to the flag pore site. We've requested quotes to see
what the cost of bringing electric to the pole would cost and it is most likely going to be
prohibitive. Sind we don't have 24/7on-site maintenance, there is no one to raise and lower the
Page 2 of
