Newton agreed that the goal was <br /> standard for most communities striving to provide affordable housing to its residents. Mr. Trebat <br /> referenced objective 3 and the reasoning behind locating "large affordable housing projects locations <br /> near or adjacent to already built areas where the required infrastructure is more readily available." <br /> Committee members discussed eliminating use of"l arg6" and also questioned how Mashpee would <br /> Lr.steer" projects toward available infrastructure, Mr. Newton stated that the intent was to encourage <br /> development near existing infrastructure such as wastewater systems. Ms. doff suggested that the <br /> Committee focus on issues involving heir own mandate in the document and eventually address topics <br /> in Z A and Planning. Mr-. Trebat suggested that the document was subject to the Affordable Housing <br /> Committee's input to help meet the'Town's needs. <br /> Mr. Newton also discussed the possibility of the Z A negotiating an affordable housing to market rate <br /> of greater than 25% in order to build the number of affordable housing units in Mashpee and reach the <br /> 10% requirement. Mr. Newton would life the Affordable a Housing Committee to assist with promoting <br /> an increase in affordable units. <br /> Mr. Trebat recommended that each individual review the document and provide their input directly to <br /> Mr. Newton to assist w <br />
