Board of Assessors Meeting Pace 2 <br /> Board Action on Appealsfor Real Property- Tax Abatements <br /> Abatements Granted dontinued <br /> Leslie Greig made motion The Board approve the List of <br /> Real Property Abatements Granted as printed; Kenneth Porter made <br /> second the motion; motion passed; unanimous decision. The List <br /> of 12 Abatements Granted is attached to These Minutes. <br /> Board of Assessors Upcoming Meeting Schedule <br /> Chairman DeLory announced that the next scheduled <br /> Regular Board Meeting will be held on the Tuesday evening of <br /> March 26 , 1996 at 6 : 00 p.m. <br /> David Bail.ey ' s Upcoming -Assessing Department summary <br /> David Badley informed Board Members that he is in <br /> process of preparing a summary of the last fire years what <br /> has taken place since he began his job as Director of Assessing <br /> -, and what he would like to see take place within the next <br /> few years . The portion of the summary of what he desires in the <br /> near future will cost a substantial amount of- money and is <br /> intended more for the Finance committee, but he feels that the <br /> written preparation has proven worthwhile for hien. <br /> Ir. Badley explained that the costliest item <br /> about 1 Million Dollars . * . is new tax maps , which the <br /> department needs desperately. Perhaps the state or the County <br /> will contribute a portion of this cost. Vice Chairman Greig <br /> initiated discussion . Mr. Bailey explained that if new maps are <br /> prepared, they should have topos, wetland del inea-tion, flood plan <br /> zoning all on a computer so that this information overlays <br /> one another. This plan is all in the 21st century and this <br /> is ghat we should be preparing for . <br /> Ba� id Bailey expressed opinion that his job entails <br /> making the government aware that this is the way things are <br /> going. Having these maps on computers eliminates the neem to <br /> prepare new maps every time a new road is prepared. If this was <br /> accomplished when Ms ,. Pamela Davis originally made the request, <br /> the computerized reaps would have paid for themselves with all the <br /> development that has taken place in the. meantime. <br /> Chairman DeLory initiated more discussion. Mr . Bailey <br /> explained that having these maps six years acro would have <br /> provided topos for the school , tr i l 1.owBend, and all the new <br />
