She expressed opinion that <br /> Assessing should have a copy to protect Itself it proves <br /> that the signature is legally authorized. Lengthy discussion <br /> followed concerning the matter of power-of-attorney as well as <br /> limited-power-of-attorney. <br /> Chairman Greig informed Marcia ding that he does not <br /> mind disallowing these abatement applications because he had to <br /> disallow one of Mashpee ' s major taxpayers, Fields Point, for <br /> filing just one day late. David Bailey explained that Fields <br /> Point has filed abatement applications one day late during the <br /> past three years. <br /> Board of Assessors ' Poll.cr---on Signature Stamps <br /> Chairman Greig informed Marcia King that The Board has <br /> a very firm policy regarding signature stamps . The signatures of <br /> the Three Sward Members on a stamp is used only for betterments, <br /> Vice Chairman Porter expressed agreement that The Board ' s policy <br /> stands -very f it . Mr. Greig noted that Ms. Susan Collum will <br /> have to have the stamp revised for Marcia King ' s signature. <br /> NEW/OLD BUSINESS: <br /> The Overlay Reserve <br /> David Bailey informed Board Members that he had <br /> expected during Town Meeting a request would be made of Assessing <br /> to release funds from Its Overlay Reserve the request never <br /> came. He expressed opinion that there is probably close to One <br /> Million Dollars available which has been just sitting. Mr. <br /> Bailey expected that this reserve money would fund part of the <br /> "down Mall renovations or fund the "swing years" on the school <br /> financing . the years when Mashpee would not be receiving <br /> reimbursement which funding may still happen. He was <br /> wondering if The Board of Assessors would want to press the issue <br />! <br /> and send a letter saying that this money is going to be <br /> transferred to Overlay Surplus . Lengthy discussion followed. <br />
