Be informed that Mashpee has
a new person whose primary job is "digging up money" . Mr. Bailey
has included the mapping project along with some computer
enhancement in a list of needs for the Community Action statement
that she is proposing. Be suggested that Board Members include
anything they feel may be granta-ble. David Bailey explained that
the Community Action Statement basically says "this is what is
going on in The Town for the next ten years or so . . thin is
what we would like to do. " However, every time we apply for a
grant, the request is checked to see if the project is really
something .we planned on or if it was- just recently proposed
because we found out that a grant is available.
Chairman Greig expressed opinion that they should try
to get other jurisdictions involved this may prove much
more effective. David Bailey informed that he has not
talked with the Board of Health about how much preliminary work
has been cone on the landfill capping as far as mapping does
. . there is a great deal involved prior to completion of this
project. Mr. Bailey expressed opinion that a sizable portion of
the costs for Buffl.ehead Bay as well as other large projects,
such as road projects and bike paths that may require costly
research and mapping, may be covered by this grant* That is the
reason why he has distributed a sample RFP to many departments .
David Bailey stated that he will inform The Board when
the requested information is received from these departments.
The Personal. Pro ert Tax
Chairman Greig informed that he intends to keep busy
with his new Personal Property Tax project. He explainer) that he
has a printout of all Property owners in New Seabury that he must
keep very confidential . He intends to rank up the printout with
