Board of Assessors Meeting Page <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Request to Abate Late Charges on an Excise Tax Bili <br /> Upon question by Chairman Greig, Mr . Bailey explained <br /> that Susan Collum has spoken quite a few times with the <br /> Owner/Applicant who stated he never received the initial Excise <br /> Tax Bill and notices of payment overdue . . he did receive the <br /> Demand and wants the penalties abated. Mr , Bailey further <br /> explained that Assessing did mail the initial bill to the correct <br /> address. Mr . Greig informed that the Applicant owns a house in <br /> John' s Bond; Susan race a rotation that an 1 payment was made <br /> on September 3 , 1997 . <br /> Chairman Greiff. stated there j.s nothing the Board can <br /> do. David Bailey expressed agreement; he pointed out that the <br /> Applicant did receive other bills as well as the Demand for <br /> payment of the Excise Tax Bill . There seems to be no reason to <br /> abate . . . and Assessing is not the authority to abate . . . a <br /> request to the State, accompanied by a very good explanation, <br /> would have to be made. <br /> 4 <br /> Discussion on Town of Mashpee Sales Land Use Analysis <br /> Re ort Dated September 9 , 1991 <br /> David Bailey distributed copies of the Sales Report to <br /> Board Members. He explained that the information is pretty much <br /> how this matte ' stands as of today for Fiscal Year 1998 . There <br /> have been a few changes made on the system before this report was <br /> printed, and there are quite a few charges to be rade yet. The <br /> big changes that have been made before this report was printed <br /> are as follows : <br /> willowBend Land has gone up by about o - o it <br /> is on a curve, Chairman Greig informed he has heard a rumor that <br /> Raul Fireman'tan has sola out Willo Bend; he questioned if this is <br /> true. Mr. Bailey said he has not heard anything. Both Vice <br /> Chairman Porter and Marcia King. referred to the "Sunday Globe ' s" <br /> large article about the likeness of Mr.. Fireman ' s promotion of <br /> Wil.l.owBend to his promotion of a puerto Rico development. <br /> Mr. Bailey informed that truth of the rumor would <br /> surprise him Mr. Fireman has just negotiated to buy all of the <br /> Cumming ' s waterfront property on Shoestring Bay. Mr. Porter <br /> informed that Mr. Fireman is working very hard on building two <br /> large golf enterprises WillowBend and another in Puerto <br /> Rico . he is putting a lot of time and money into both! .' <br />
