Richard Kerrigan (Present) <br /> (continued) <br /> Marcia Ding informed that the Town sends the tax bill <br /> to the Property owner, then the owner sends it along to the bank. <br /> Responsibility is on the owner to review the bill and core in to <br /> Town Hall if the bill seers too high and file for an abatement <br /> • that is the procedure. Mir. Kerrigan nastily stated "What <br /> you people are saying to us is we got you for $2 , 000 in ' 97 , more <br /> than what your property was really worth, and we 're not going to <br /> o a god damn thing about it.' .' " Mr . Bailey explained as follows <br /> "What we are saying is your bill in ' 97 was $4 , 000, your bill <br /> this year i $3 , 300 , that' s $700, not $2 , 000 . then you came and <br /> asked someone to go out and look at that property, someone looked <br /> at the property and lowered the value of - the property. You had <br /> two opportunities to appeal these assessments , but you did not <br /> take advantage . 0 * <br /> for whatever reason you want. " Mr. Kerrigan <br /> angrily replied, rrThe mason was we were not made aware of that. <br /> I sat in your office and I asked your to come back out and take a <br /> look at it not once did you mention it to ane. You know <br /> something it right be in your interest to file for an <br /> abatement on this! ! " <br /> David Bailey emphatically stated "I coo about 200 of <br /> these a year, but I can absolutely guarantee that I have never, <br /> during the time when someone can file for an abatement, not <br /> advise then to file for an abatement! ! " Chairman Greig stated <br /> "That is a fact! ! " Richard Kerrigan replied "That is not a fact <br /> in my case . . . it may be in everybody elsets but 1 can <br /> tell you right now, he never mentioned it! ! " Mr . Bailey <br /> emphatically stated "I am saying you were not here during the <br /> month of January last year.' ' " <br /> Mr, Kerrigan asked Mrs . Kerrigan to show The Board and <br /> David Bailey the letter they wrote. He pointed out that there <br /> is nothing in documentation other than his word; he explained <br /> that they wrote this letter stating "what they wanted and what <br /> they were asking for from the Town" , The letter clearly states w <br /> have been trying to resolve this for over a year with Dare <br /> this is not something that I made up just now.
