2 <br /> CIP Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> January 8, 2004 <br /> Li br : (continued) <br /> TeMporaryYSPa e: - $100,000 <br /> The Library Building Committee is presently reviewing temporary space <br /> needs. It is possible that the Library would remain at its present location if <br /> the new facility is built i front of the current building. Funding for <br /> temporary access and egress may have to be configured into the budget <br /> assumption. This method would be less disruptive for the Library, its staff <br /> and its patrons and would result M" potential.cost savings to the Town. <br /> It was determined that temporary space if required mould be considered a <br /> part of the total Library construction budget. <br /> Impacts associated to cost increases for operating a larger building <br /> include; additional staffing needs and energy assumptions. The matter <br /> will be reviewed with the Selectmen at their next meeting. <br /> School Department: <br /> Several members of the School Department were present to discuss the <br /> capital improvement needs of the Iashpee Schools with the CIP <br /> Committee. Patricia Parolsi, Superintendent of Schools outlined the CIP <br /> requests for fiscal year 2005. <br /> Wheelchair van: - $K975 <br /> Year AI of a 3 year lease purchase <br /> The enrollment of new wheelchair-bound students and transportation <br /> needs of currently enrolled special needs students dictates the reed for an <br /> additional vary for the transportation of wheelchair using students. <br /> The wheelchair van would be utilized on a daily basis to transport <br /> handicap students off Cape. Presently, the school has eight vans. Two are <br /> wheelchair vans. A wheelchair van accommodates five to six persons. <br /> The new v addition to the school vehicle fleet would eliminate additional <br /> transportation fees, The School Department hires the Cape Cod <br /> Collaborative at a cost of over $40,000 per year to transport handicapped <br /> students to of Cape locations. <br />
