' I <br /> 7 <br /> Capital Improvement Program Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> December 19, 2006 <br /> Board of Health: <br /> i <br /> Glenn Harrington, Health Agent was in attendance to request the CIP <br /> Committee consider the purchase of a 4 wheel ( rive vehicle for his, <br /> department. The funding request is $26,028. A new vehicle would <br /> replace the 1996 Jeep Cherokee with approximately 78,100 miles. The <br /> vehicle is used daily by the department. To date,there are no major <br /> repairs. <br /> The CIP Committee agreed to review the Tom's Inventory of vehicles <br /> that would include present mileage figures. <br /> It was noted that Landfill Cap repairs are not prioritized for FY . The <br /> Department of Public worts is presently assisting with the Board of <br /> Health to reduce.costs and to comply with landfill requirements. <br /> Police: <br /> Rodney Collins, Chief of Police discussed the vehicle replacement plan <br /> for the Police Department ent as outlined in his memorandum to,the CIP <br /> Committee dated November 1 , 2006. <br /> Capital items continued from last year include the final year of the <br /> lease/purchase of 7 police vehicles $53,660,the second year of 4 police <br /> vehicles $34,435 and the second year of 2 police vehicles $29,995. <br /> Committed funding for the Police.Department, $118,090 would be <br /> deducted from the anticipated CIP budget for FY . <br /> Additional capital requests include the replacement of worn and outdated <br /> furniture in the amount of$69,558. This has been an ongoing OR request <br /> of the department to increase morale and to maintain professionalism <br /> within the department. Last year the Committee requested the purchase he <br /> considered iii phases. <br /> Card reader access for security and recording at the Police facility is an <br /> additional and ongoing CIP request. Funding in the amount of$110,000 <br /> i would support the installation of a card reader access system, digital <br /> CCTV surveillance system and digitally recorded video/audio for booking <br /> and interrogation rooms. The system could be enhanced to allow for the <br /> monitoring of all town buildings,for intrusion. Mission critical Mems <br /> include video/audio for the booting and interrogation morns. <br />
