Capital Improvement Program Committee Minutes December 2, 2008 IT Department: The 1estop PC R:eplacement Pro a cost of$32,000 in yeas-one was deemed an operating expense which would qualify for funding the first year. The budget as requested would replace 40 PC's. The Tape al -u , a cost of$1.0,000 for the upgrade of hardware was also identified as an operating expense. And,the Server Heplacement Proms reflected i year-one for$10,000 was earmarked as an operating cost. _ Operating pense PC Replacement: $32!0000 Tape Back-up $10,000 Server Replacement 10,000 Total IT Operating Expense: $52,000 The Fireless Backbone requested for appropriation in FY201 o 'n the proposed two-year replacement schedule is anticipated to cost$45,000. it was agreed the request would be forwarded to the Mashpee Cable and Advanced Technology(MCAT)board for funding consideration. It was also the recommendation of the CIP to consider the MU IS Treaspa Management Module a one-time cost of$18,000 in the expense budget of the Treasurer/Tax Collector or 1T Department. However, it was noted that it is not necessary to.purchase the upgrade in 2010. Due to budgetary constraints,the software upgrade may be deferred to 2011. The request for Aerial Imagery, a cost of$90,000 was deferred. The Ton of 1lashpee assumed past funding, and a regional approach with cost sharing would be considered as a future option. The Remote Access project to support the Police Department vehicles by providing GIS and GPS technology, a preliminary cost of2 0 is paint of the Town Surveillance project. Under the category Planing Construction,the Town Surveillance Systems project will encompass the remote access upgrade.
