• DHCD announced funding to reissue MRVP mobile vouchers, which have been frozen since 2002. <br /> Housing Authorities are being given the opportunity to apply for up to 10 vouchers. I've applied <br /> for 10 and am waiting to hear whether we will get them or not. <br /> • We received a dividend check from Mass NAHRO for our workmen's comp: $225.00 <br /> I have a small claims case pending in Falmouth District Court for a past tenant who owes rent to <br /> the housing authority. The court date has been postponed twice already because of my accident. <br /> The new date falls during the week that I'll be in Providence for my Spectrum training. David has <br /> an attorney who may be willing to handle it for me. <br /> • The budget was reverted for a couple reasons. I've met with Tom Joy regarding the issues and <br /> responded to each issue (see letter). After a brief discussion a motion was made by Mr. <br /> Halpern and seconded by Ms. Allen to send a letter to DHCD responding to each of the <br /> budget items brought up by them. The motion was adopted. <br /> OLD BUSINESS: <br /> Town land for affordable housing: After a brief discussion, this item was tabled to the December meeting. <br /> Ms. Garron will look into getting a list together of land that is 3 acres or more. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Executive Director Evaluation: Mrs. Botsford provided the board with copies of her last evaluation and <br /> blank evaluation forms. This item was tabled to next meeting. <br /> Asher's Path dedication and statistics: Mrs. Botsford stated that Laurie McGuire (senior property manager <br /> for Peabody Properties) provided the following statistics regarding residents: all units have been'rented. <br /> 33 of the 56 were rented to Mashpee residents. <br /> Mrs. Botsford reported that the folks at Peabody Properties that handle public relations suggest that a <br /> holiday"Meet Your Neighbor"gathering be scheduled for Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at 10;00 AM. It <br /> would be an informal gathering with refreshments and the press would be invited. The board agreed to <br /> this. Mrs. Botsford stated that all board members would be receiving a written invitation. <br /> Mr. Laporte brought up a concern about security with regards to the side doors at Asher's Path, which are <br /> being propped open by rocks and things. Mrs. Botsford stated that management is aware of the problem <br /> and it is ongoing. She will inquire about what options there are to address the issue. <br /> 705IBreezy Acres expansion: Mrs. Botsford stated that she had forwarded a copy of DHCD's award letter. <br /> She stated she just received the full application that needs to be completed jointly by the housing <br /> authority and the Department of Mental Retardation, who will be partnering with us on the 689. DHCD <br /> has agreed to match the CPA funds of$450,000 to build two new buildings. One would be a duplex <br /> containing two two-bedroom units. This would be family housing, chapter 705. The other building would <br /> be an SRO (Single Room Occupancy) building housing up to five bedrooms for special needs housing, <br /> chapter 689. <br /> Board member signature authorization --TD BankNorth: Mrs. Botsford provided the form that TD <br /> BankNorth has provided to update the board members names, as authorized signers on the housing <br /> authority accounts. <br /> OTHER BUSINESS: <br /> Mr. Laporte mentioned that the Key Club at the high school is looking for a community service project. <br /> Someone will be in touch to coordinate some raking at our properties. <br /> -2 - <br />
