only significant revision has been a $3,000 plumbing change order. The
completion date is still November 1-20.
Friends of the Mashpee Senior Center-- The group announced a gift of
$251,000 from Mashpee Commons. Also, the Men's Club has donated
$l0,000. Many additional fundraising activities are planned.
Senior Center Design Meeting— Scheduled for May 13. Three Interior
Designers in town were to attend. At issue were paint colors and other
j
design decisions. A primary paint color under consideration is cranberry—it
would be easy to maintain. But whatever decisions are made by the interior
designers would have to go back to the full building committee for approval.
I
Building Furniture Committee—The group is chaired by the Building
Committee director and meets weekly to determine furniture specifications
for the new center. The new target date for purchasing decisions is July 1
and much needs to be done before then. Color Boards were not received
until the third week in April, which is slowing this process considerably.
Jim promises to keep us informed.
Thrift Shop—Negotiations are under way about transferring the shop to a
different location.
2005 Operating Budget— An expense budget of$18,500 was approved—a
reduction from FY 2004. No additional dollars were provided to operate the
new building.
Consortium—The Upper Cape consortium continues to pursue a $50,000
grant from the County for EAR(Elders at Risk) Mental Health Services.
Cape Cod Hospital would match if approved.
User Fees —Jim Long distributed a memo concerning fees for use of the
building, with his recommendations on the need to increase them. {They
have remained constant since 1999}. The Council. on Aging.will have to
recommend to the selectmen the adoption of the fee structure. Leila
Boptsford offered a motion to table the revised schedule for the present --
Marijo Gorney seconded the motion.
