2 <br /> Community Preservation Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> May 9, Zoo <br /> APPOINTMENTS Al HEARINNS <br /> EM Merritt—Historic one Room Schoolhouse: (continued) <br /> A revised budget for the project proposal was submitted to the Conunittee <br /> to reflect a price increase for need foundation repairs. The estimated cost <br /> is $3,000. To date,the total handing request is$24,030. <br /> Discussion followed with respect to obtaining adequate funding to <br /> complete the project proposal. To date, the issue of landscaping is not <br /> defined. The utter of security was recommended to be considered <br /> although the building does not have electricity. Handicap access and <br /> ADA compliance was suggested to be reviewed to see if this is a <br /> necessary component in a public building. In addition to back door <br /> repairs, it was noted the front floor also is in need of repair and should be <br /> considered in the expense budget. <br /> It was noted there is a lot of history surrounding the One Room <br /> Schoolhouse building. Additional historic buildings in Mashpee include <br /> the Museum and Meetinghouse that are also listed in the National Register <br /> of Historic Places. The old Indian Cemetery and surrounding vegetation <br /> also add to the character of the schoolhouse building. <br /> Ms. Merritt was requested to submit additional cost proposals as discussed <br /> for additional review and consideration. <br /> Zella Elizenbeffy Affordable Housingl sibilily Study: <br /> Zeila Elizenbeffy, Chair of the Affordable Housing Committee was <br /> present with several committee members to discuss their request to <br /> conduct a feasibility study for planned housing in the amount of$130,000. <br /> Ms. Elizenberry indicated the cost assumption is valid as presented. The <br /> project known as the Barnstable Lowell project is located at the <br /> intersection of old Barnstable and Lowell Toad. The 3.8 acre municipally <br /> owned parcel i's shown on Assessor's Map 60, parcel 2. <br /> The study is driven by the Town of Ma. h ee Affordable Hou it and <br /> Planned Production Plan adopted in 1998. The seventy-six page plan <br /> finalized in February of 2005 includes a study completed by the Survey <br /> Center in the fall of 20 . The plan in its entirety can be found on the <br /> Town's website:.www.ci.Mgjhpee.ma.us. <br />
