Land owned by the Town at the intersection of Old Barnstable <br /> Road and Lowell Road was deemed the most suitable location. <br /> [upon receipt of thin , the engineering firmof Horsley Witten would <br /> conduct site analysis, survey, testing, site design and other studies. The <br /> architectural firm; Brown Lindquist is projected to work on site and unit <br /> design. Legal assistance would be provided by Wynn& Wynn. <br /> With respect to the above, it was noted the public bid process would <br /> prevail. <br /> It was noted the County Technical Assistance Program(TAI)provides <br /> funding for initiatives such a ; feasibility studies, site evaluation and legal <br /> studies. The deadline for this year's application is May 26, 2006. <br /> -Iowver,there are spending limitations. The Affordable Housing <br /> members indicated that they are seeking TAP grant funding assistance that <br /> is limited to $5,000 for additional project phases. It was not known if the <br /> Affordable Dousing Committee would reduce their funding request if the <br /> $5,000 were attained. <br /> Discussion followed With respect to the high cost to conduct the feasibility <br /> study. It was noted the feasibility study is a necessary component o <br /> planned housing that would allow for units to fit within the character of <br /> Mashpee realizing impacts such as traffic and schools. <br /> The nearly formed Mashpec Housing Authority Trust voted upon at Town <br /> Meeting and the potential use of available funding in the amount of <br /> $200,000 was discussed and will be f other reviewed at the next meeting. <br /> The issue of maintenance and the general renting of the proposed <br /> affordable units and facilities was considered. The Nlashpee Housing <br /> Authority was suggested as the entity to oversee the maintenance and <br /> management functions of the proposed new affordable housing <br /> development. <br /> Ms. Elizenberry was requested to remit to the Committee, copies of the <br /> Affordable Dousing and Planned Production Plan for addional review. <br />
