S <br /> Community Preservation Committee <br /> Minutes. <br /> May 9, 2006 . <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Carol Mitchell— uashnet PTO Hel�nHands Pl round: <br /> Carol Mitchell, Quashnet School PTO was present to discuss the Helping <br /> Hands Playground for the children of the community including the <br /> disabled. The facility is located behind the'Quashoet School to the rear of <br /> the gynasi <br /> xum. <br /> Ms. Mitchell indicated the committee was formed three years age to re- <br /> build the aging and unsafe playground. It was noted that much of the <br /> equipment is outdated and not up to code standards. <br /> Five hexed and seventy-five students including fere wheel-chair bound <br /> and to anticipated wheel-chair bound student are anticipated to utilize <br /> the playground facility. In addition,children participating in Pop roamer <br /> program and the sunnier school programs'would utilize the playground <br /> and its functions. Presently, handicap children are not able to participate <br /> and interact in the playground settin . <br /> The project is in its second phase.
