6 <br /> Community Preservation Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> May 2 , 2006 <br /> Emma-Jo Mills Brennan—Mills Family La ds Sa.ntuit Pond: (continued) <br /> The open space criteria analysis would permanently protect important <br /> wildlife habitat and enhance wildlife corridors, provide opportunities for <br /> passive recreation and environmental education, provide'connection to <br /> existing trails or potential trail linkage,preserve scenic views,protect <br /> drinking water quality and quantity, and preserve a primary or secondary <br /> priority parcel in accordance with the open space plan. <br /> Ms. Goldberg indicated that all of the Mills family lands lie within a Zone <br /> II well-head protection area within the Town's groundwater protection <br /> overlay district. <br /> Grant funding if attained to preserve the drinking water aspect of the <br /> proposal would provide a 0%match to the purchase plan. It was noted <br /> the deadline to apply for state f .nding is September 15th. grant request <br /> can be submitted to the state pending Town Meeting approval. <br /> Discussion followed with regards to reimbursement monies provided by ' <br /> the State Division of Conservation Services and Self-Help a 58% grant <br /> match funded for open space purchases.- The Committee requested further <br /> information regarding the success rate of grant funding. It was disclosed <br /> the Self-Delp grant-application deadline is August P. <br /> Mr. Fu"a indicated that Torn has been very successful <br />
