 rr
PROCESS DESCRIPTIONS
HOW WILL THE RECORDS AND BOOKS BE HANDLED?
1. Joseph J. Marotti Company will arrange pick up and delivery of books and documents
at or will provide all the materials you will need(carton, packing materials, tape, wrapping
• paper, labels and special instructions)to self pack the documents or books for shipment.
2. You will be notified when the shipment is received and when you can expect receipt of
the restored books and documents.
DETERMINATION OF PAPER pH.
An inexpensive and easy pH testing method which can be performed on site is a pH testing
pen with Chlorophenol Red. Papers which arc acceptable (generally above 6.0)will test
purple. Papers which are acidic, will test yellow or clear.
This simple tool allows you to provide an instant and graphic answer to the question of
whether or not a given paper artifact is in need of deacidification. Your customer will see
irrefutable scientific evidence that their paper records are deteriorating and in need of
treatment.
While the pH pen is highly reliable, there do exist certain colored papers or paper coatings
which make interpretation of results inconclusive. For those very few situations, an
alternate method of testing must be employed, such as pH test strips.
•
